    Business Development Lead

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Lead to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and build strategic partnerships across Africa’s manufacturing and industrial sectors.
    • This role requires a commercially astute and strategic leader who can identify high-value opportunities, close complex deals, and position the company as a trusted partner in manufacturing transformation.

    Key Responsibilities
    Strategy & Revenue Growth:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company growth targets
    • Build and manage a strong pipeline with clear value projections and conversion timelines
    • Drive revenue by identifying, qualifying, and closing high-value mandates

    Market Intelligence:

    • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, sectors, and client segments
    • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity
    • Translate insights into actionable growth strategies.

    Client & Stakeholder Management:

    • Build and manage relationships with clients, DFIs, government agencies, and key stakeholders
    • Lead client engagements from outreach to deal closure and ongoing relationship management
    • Represent the company at industry events and forums.

    Proposals & Deal Execution:

    • Lead the development of proposals, pitch decks, and commercial offers
    • Negotiate contracts and partnership agreements
    • Collaborate with internal teams to align proposals with delivery capacity.

    Partnerships & Team Leadership:

    • Develop strategic alliances with institutions and partners
    • Lead and manage the BD team (Partnership Lead, Social Media Manager, Research Interns)
    • Foster a high-performance, results-driven culture.

    Reporting & Performance:

    • Track KPIs (revenue, pipeline, win rate) and report to the Managing Partner
    • Provide weekly updates and monthly performance reports.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA is an advantage)
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business Development, Commercial Strategy, or related roles
    • Proven track record of driving revenue and closing high-value deals
    • Experience in manufacturing, consulting, or investment-related sectors
    • Strong understanding of African market dynamics
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
