Job brief

We are looking for a reliable Budget Analyst to help us with ineffective budget planning and spending. You will conduct reviews of budget proposals and analyses of financial data to determine the correct allocation of funding.

A budget accountant must have a strong mathematical mind and an ability to think critically. You should also be knowledgeable about all legal regulations pertaining to budgeting. We want to see candidates with strong attention to detail, writing skills, and excellent communication ability.

The goal is to organize our finances and ensure we can accelerate our profitability and growth.

Responsibilities

• Discuss inter-company accounting and relate issues to management; manage the implementation of changes and updates in processes across various company entities.
• Design payroll and billing procedures for bi-weekly processing.
• Document the procedures to prepare the above reports including flow charts.
• Facilitate data transfer and reconciliation between systems (TSI/T-II and PeopleSoft).
• Review staffing compensations, medical benefits, professional insurances, headcount, and FTE metrics.
• Process highly confidential payroll action paperwork such as new hires, transfers, salary increases, terminations.
• Assist with bi-monthly payroll preparation.
• Verify the operating performance of the PeopleSoft data system and explain significant income statement and balance sheet variances on a regular basis.
• Prepare inter-company reconciliation/balance account analysis.

Requirements and skills

·         Candidate must reside in Lagos

• Must have 3 -5 years’ experience as a budget accountant.
• Knowledge of budget and forecasting methods
• Understanding of budgeting and regulatory requirements
• Excellent mathematical ability and an analytical mind
• Proficient in MS Office and databases; knowledge of graphic software is a plus
• Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
• Attention to detail
• BSc/MSc in accounting, finance, business, or relevant field.
• Must have ACCA or ACA.
• Salary 250 - 300k
