Biology & Chemistry Teacher at Distinct Star Schools

Responsibilites

• Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in Biology & Chemistry, aligned with the school’s academic calendar and the standards of national and international examination bodies.
• External Exam Preparation: Thoroughly prepare students for standardized exams (e.g., WAEC, NECO, IGCSE) through focused teaching, past question reviews, mock exams, and structured revision programs.
• Student Assessment: Design, administer, and grade tests, assignments, quizzes, and practical exercises to monitor and evaluate student progress continuously.
• Practical & Conceptual Instruction: Conduct laboratory sessions and demonstrations in Biology & Chemistry and relate mathematical concepts to real-life applications to support deeper student understanding.
• Academic Support: Identify learning gaps and provide additional support or remedial classes to help students meet academic standards and excel in both internal and external assessments.
• Classroom & Behavior Management: Maintain a well-organized, disciplined, and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation and academic excellence.
• Use of Technology: Integrate modern teaching tools and digital resources, such as educational software, simulations, and online platforms, to enhance instructional delivery.
• Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, lesson plans, and examination results.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues, school leadership, and parents to support student progress and align teaching strategies with overall school goals
• Professional Development: Stay updated with developments in Biology & Chemistry education, as well as exam board requirements, and participate in ongoing training and capacity building.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess relevant qualifications with 3 - 7 years work experience.
