    Basic Science Tutor

    Job Description:

    • Teaching Fundamental Concepts: Instructing students in basic scientific principles across disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
    • Engaging Experiments: Conducting hands-on experiments and demonstrations to illustrate scientific theories and encourage practical understanding.
    • Clarification of Concepts: Explaining complex scientific ideas in a clear and understandable manner suitable for students of varying ages and learning abilities.
    • Encouraging Inquiry: Fostering curiosity and critical thinking by encouraging questions, discussions, and exploration of scientific phenomena.
    • Homework and Assignments: Reviewing and assisting students with science-related homework, assignments, and projects to reinforce learning.
    • Assessment and Evaluation: Designing assessments, quizzes, and tests to gauge students' understanding of scientific concepts and progress.
    • Application of Science: Helping students relate scientific principles to everyday life and real-world applications to demonstrate relevance.
    • Safety Guidelines: Ensuring students understand and follow safety protocols while conducting experiments or working with scientific equipment.
    • Individualized Support: Providing personalized assistance and guidance to students based on their learning pace and comprehension.
    • Communication: Communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements in science education.

    Required Skills:

    • Subject Knowledge: Proficiency in basic scientific principles across disciplines like biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
    • Teaching Ability: Capability to convey complex scientific concepts in a clear, concise, and engaging manner suitable for students with different learning styles.
    • Experimental Skills: Competence in conducting hands-on experiments and demonstrations to illustrate scientific theories and principles.
    • Patience and Communication: Displaying patience while explaining intricate scientific concepts and effectively communicating these ideas to students.
    • Adaptability: Adjusting teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities of students.

    Education/Experience

    • B. Ed in Basic Science and Other Relevant Certification. 
    • Firm understanding and practical experience of the Cambridge Curriculum 
    • Minimum of Eight Years Experience
