Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, professional, and customer-focused Bartender to join our hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and ensuring compliance with company standards and responsible service procedures.

The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of beverages and cocktail preparation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and service standards.
• Prepare cocktails, mocktails, mixed drinks, wines, beers, spirits, juices, soft drinks, and other beverages.
• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional, and attentive service.
• Take beverage orders accurately and serve customers promptly.
• Recommend beverages and assist customers with menu selections when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar throughout service.
• Check and replenish bottles, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, and other bar supplies.
• Ensure drinks are prepared consistently and presented according to company standards.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and process payments where required.
• Maintain accurate records of sales and bar transactions.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, breakages, or discrepancies to the Bar Supervisor or Manager.
• Minimize wastage and ensure proper portion control when preparing beverages.
• Check the quality and condition of beverages, ingredients, glassware, and bar equipment.
• Maintain proper hygiene and sanitation standards in the bar area.
• Clean and sanitize bar equipment, workstations, refrigerators, and storage areas.
• Follow all company policies relating to health, safety, hygiene, and responsible beverage service.
• Work closely with Bar Backs, Waiters, Kitchen Staff, and other team members to ensure smooth service.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including bar setup and shutdown.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and refer complex issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Bar Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO or equivalent.
• Certificate or training in Bartending, Hospitality, Catering, or a related field is an advantage.
• 1–3 years of experience as a Bartender or in a similar hospitality role is preferred.
• Good knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and other beverages.
• Basic knowledge of beverage presentation and garnish preparation.
• Experience using a POS system is an advantage.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good numeracy and cash-handling skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good personal hygiene and professional appearance.
• Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
