Job Summary

• A Hotel Barbecue Man (often called a grill chef) is responsible for preparing and serving grilled foods for guests, usually in restaurants, outdoor settings, or poolside areas.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and grill foods such as:
• Chicken, fish, beef, suya, kebabs, etc.
• Season and marinate meat properly
• Monitor the grill to avoid burning or undercooking
• Ensure food is served hot, fresh, and well-presented
• Set up and clean the barbecue/grill station before and after use

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long hours
• Comfortable working with heat/fire
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Skills Required:

• Good knowledge of grilling techniques
• Ability to control heat and timing
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety
• Speed and efficiency under pressure
• Attention to taste and presentation

Experience:
Previous experience in:

• Hotel kitchen
• Restaurant
• Suya/BBQ spot is usually required

Extra Advantage:

• Knowing how to make local barbecue styles (like suya or asun)
• Good customer service attitude.
