Bar Back at Circa Non Pareil

Reports To: Bartender / Bar Supervisor / Bar Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a hardworking, energetic, and reliable Bar Back to support our bar team and ensure smooth and efficient bar operations. The Bar Back will assist bartenders with stocking, cleaning, preparing supplies, maintaining the bar area, and providing general support during service.

The ideal candidate should be organized, physically fit, attentive to detail, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders with the preparation and smooth operation of the bar.
• Ensure the bar is adequately stocked with beverages, ice, garnishes, glassware, napkins, and other supplies.
• Replenish bottles, mixers, juices, garnishes, and other bar ingredients as required.
• Collect and wash or properly organize used glassware and bar equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, storage areas, refrigerators, and workstations.
• Assist with setting up the bar before service and cleaning and closing down the bar after service.
• Monitor stock levels and inform the bartender or supervisor when supplies are running low.
• Receive, move, and store beverage supplies and other bar inventory appropriately.
• Prepare basic garnishes and other items required for bar service.
• Clear empty bottles, glasses, and waste from the bar and service areas.
• Assist bartenders during busy periods to ensure fast and efficient service.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, health, and workplace safety procedures.
• Handle bar equipment and supplies carefully to prevent damage and unnecessary waste.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized working environment at all times.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Bar Manager, Supervisor, or Bartender.

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Bar Back, Kitchen Assistant, Steward, Waiter, or in a similar hospitality role is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of bar operations is an advantage.
• Good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and move supplies when required.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
