Automobile Engineer at African Industries Group (AIG)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance of forklifts, loaders, trucks, trailers, company vehicles, diesel generators, and material handling equipment.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules for all fleet and mobile equipment.
• Diagnose engine, hydraulic, transmission, electrical, and mechanical faults.
• Monitor fuel consumption and improve fleet efficiency.
• Reduce vehicle downtime and maintenance costs.
• Maintain vehicle service records, licensing, insurance, and statutory compliance.
• Coordinate spare parts planning and workshop operations.
• Ensure safety compliance for drivers and operators.
• Train operators on daily equipment inspection and safe operation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, Higher National Diploma or OND in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 4 - 8 years of experience maintaining industrial fleets or heavy equipment.
• Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or fleet management environment is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, forklifts, loaders, trucks, generators, and diagnostic tools.
• Strong planning, troubleshooting, and cost-control skills.
