Job Summary
The Assistant Manager, Finance will support core financial operations, ensuring smooth and accurate reporting, payment processing, proper bookkeeping, and investment tracking. The role requires precision, strategic financial management, and a keen eye for compliance with regulations.
Reports to: Head of Finance
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in weekly/monthly budget performance and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Handle statutory remittances, including taxes and pension contributions.
- Manage and report on staff advances on a weekly basis.
- Prepare and ensure monthly sectoral group account reporting.
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of obligations.
- Ensure revenue recognition, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
- Manage accounts receivable with precision and efficiency.
- Support additional financial functions to uphold best practice accounting standards.
Job Requirements & Competencies
- Education: B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or any related discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-6 years of cognate experience, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
Professional Qualification:
- ICAN/ACCA certification is will be an advantage.
Additional Advantage:
- An M.Sc. in Accounting or related field will be considered a plus.
Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts and reporting requirements under relevant accounting standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of VAT and WHT regulations.
- Proven experience with bank reconciliation, financial accounting, and insurance-related finance practices.
- High proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, and ERP systems (added advantage).

- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
