    Assistant Farm Manager

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Coordinate Farming operation management activities, resources, equipment, and information
    • Develop action plan (break farming task into doable actions and set timeframes) drawn from the revised Cassava business plan.
    • Act as the point of contact and communicate Cassava farming business status to all key stakeholders as will be required.
    • Ensure standards (agreed as stated in the Cassava business plan such as starch content, yield per hectare, operational cost etc) are met through conducting quality assurance tests, yield evaluation, operational cost review etc and ensure all delivered within agreed standard
    • Help prepare annual budget and possible monthly break-up.
    • Work with the relevant internal units to issue all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g., contracts and terms of agreement) while working with third parties
    • He is to liaise with key personnel of within Green Hills and parent companies (Saroafrica and Mohinani) to enable his division effectively to discharge their responsibilities
    • He will liaise with external stakeholders within the business and parent companies to gather information and insights that will be required in the coordination of Green Hills farming business activities
    • He will develop external relationship that will be beneficial to Green Hills Agric Product farming division and entire business
    • He will be responsible for developing Cassava farming business budget in line with the existing plan and prudent deployment of funds to achieve set objectives
    • Oversee project procurement management and ensure this aligns with planned budget
    • He will be responsible in ensuring the Cassava farming business delivers on set financial targets (Financial levers)
    • He is to undertake research and analysis into addressing key areas impacting on the technical and commercial viability of the Cassava farming business plan
    • Identifies Key technical partners local and International that Green Hills farming division can work with to improve the technical and commercial viability of the business
    • He will work closely with the MD of Green Hills Agric. Product limited and other stakeholders (Green Hills Project team) in developing the commercialization plan for the cassava farming business
    • Liaises with input suppliers and service providers to ensure prompt delivery of goods and services with minimum wastages.
    • Monitors the delivery of products to ensure that goods are received in good conditions by the farm
    • Ensure that cassava root delivery to the factory is as planned with minimum delay and wastage
    • Ensures that production costs and controls are in line with expectations and must strive to be cost efficient at all times.
    • Ensure efficient cost management that will ensure improvement in cost reduction that will ensure Green Hills remains the most cost-efficient producer of Cassava root
    • Ensure guidelines, policies and processes are followed by the entire staffs of the Cassava farming business in carrying out their responsibilities
    • He will lead the Cassava farming business and drive the team for high performance(productivity)
    • He will continuously ensure processes and operations are followed and improved upon by adherence and proposing ways of improvement

    Qualifications / Experience

    • B. Agric or First Degree in any Agriculture related course
    • Applicant must have at least 3 years relevant experience in a similar role.
    • Age: 25-35

    Competencies Required:

    • Can work with little or no supervision.
    • Will be critical in thinking and could take initiative as occasion demands.
    • Have a good command of English both in speaking and writing.
    • Be Honest, diligent, dedicated, and unassuming.
