    Area Sales Manager – Healthcare Sector

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Area Sales Manager with proven experience in the Healthcare sector to lead sales operations and drive business growth within the assigned territory.
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing distributor and customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the achievement of revenue and market share objectives.
    • The successful candidate must possess a strong understanding of the healthcare market, including hospitals, pharmacies, diagnostic centres, healthcare institutions, distributors, and other key stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed assigned sales targets.
    • Manage and grow sales within the assigned territory by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, pharmacies, diagnostic centres, healthcare institutions, distributors, and key accounts.
    • Conduct regular market visits to monitor product availability, customer satisfaction, and competitor activities.
    • Lead, coach, and motivate sales representatives and distributor sales teams to maximize performance.
    • Develop and execute territory coverage plans to increase market penetration and product visibility.
    • Monitor sales performance, prepare forecasts, and provide regular sales reports to management.
    • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate healthcare products and solutions.
    • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contracts with customers and distributors.
    • Organize product presentations, promotional activities, and customer engagement initiatives.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing and Supply Chain teams to ensure product availability and successful campaign execution.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sales practices.
    • Monitor outstanding customer payments and support timely debt recovery where necessary.
    • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to develop effective sales strategies.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in an Area Sales Manager or similar leadership role within the Healthcare sector.
    • Experience selling healthcare products, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, laboratory products, or other healthcare-related solutions is mandatory.
    • Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
    • Strong understanding of distributor management, key account management, and territory development.
    • Excellent leadership, coaching, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
    • Strong analytical and business development capabilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools is an added advantage.
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
