Job Summary

• As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen internal systems, we are seeking the services of a qualified and experienced Accountant to oversee and manage our financial operations.
• This role is ideal for a Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) with a strong background in nonprofit financial management and a passion for transparency, accountability, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
• Ensure strict compliance with tax laws and internal financial policies.
• Conduct regular financial reconciliations and internal audits.
• Provide informed guidance to leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
• Support the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Chartered Accountant certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting or financial management.
• Prior experience in nonprofit or development-sector accounting is an added advantage.

• Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero).
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• In-depth understanding of financial compliance and best practices.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills (written and oral).
