    Account Assistant

    Role Purpose

    • The Account Assistant will support the accountant with business accounting activities such as filing, reporting, ledger maintenance and account reconciliation.
    • He or She provides timely, collaborative, service-oriented support to staff on all financial matters.
    • They also assist with basic administration tasks and should be on hand to answer any queries raised by staff or external clients and providers.
    • They work closely with the accountant to devise budgets and facilitate all billing processes.

    Job Responsibilities
    Support the accountant to maintain project related records:

    • Track receipt and expenses relating to projects
    • Review supplier’s invoice as related to a project
    • Support program staff with the management and analysis of financials relevant to all grants.

    Track receivables and payables:

    • Process invoices and receipts to all customers
    • Controlling credit and chasing receivables
    • Create trackers for all payables- statutory (Tax), operational (IT, rent, contractor’s fee, staff payment and vendors payment) and ensure complaint payment.

    Controlling income & expenditure:

    • Maintain all physical records of transactions
    • Managing the office petty cash
    • Maintaining the company purchase and sales ledgers.

    Assist with auditing and taxes:

    • Compile information for internal and external auditors
    • Assist with audits and fact checks
    • Keep track of all taxes.

    Perform administrative tasks:

    • Booking flight tickets and logistics arrangements
    • Other administrative tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • A Degree in Accounting, Economics, or other related fields.
    • Proficient with computer and bookkeeping software.
    • Experience with Microsoft software packages.
    • Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles
    • Administrative skills
    • Detail-oriented
    • Result-oriented
    • Analytical thinker
    • Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information
    • Strong written and oral communicator
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Attention to detail.
