Application Support Engineer (Financial Systems) at MTN Nigeria

Core Purpose of the Job

• Responsible for the implementation of new applications, maintenance, support and upgrades to existing applications. Investigation and analysis of user problems and application bugs and subsequent problem resolution and technical testing of patches.

Job Summary

• Translating revenue growth formula & objectives into results
• Adhere to all IS Policies and Standards.
• Setup and execute technical test plans for application change, new deployment and upgrades.
• Keep all application documentation updated at all times.
• Construct a proactive maintenance cycle per application.
• Effective reporting on application behavior and performance
• Application monitoring
• Daily, weekly and monthly Reconciliations of data between systems
• Comply with the user support SLA (quick turnaround times on logged calls).
• Ensure quick resolution of all customer issues.
• Escalate to and engage vendors as necessary to effectively support the applications.
• Continuously seek self-professional development to sharpen skills and capabilities in a versatile and evolving digital landscape.
• Foster active collaboration and relationships with employees across all levels and divisions.

Job Conditions:

• Normal MTNN working conditions.
• May be required to work extended hours

Education

• First degree in Computer Science or any related field from a reputable institution.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years work experience including
  • 2 years practical experience as a software developer
  • Application development and support experience
  • PL/SQL and RDBMS knowledge
  • Exposure to typical Mobile Telecommunications applications.
  • Exposure to management of Financial/payment systems an added advantage

Training:

• Formal training in application architecture principles, technology architecture and systems integration.
• Specific training on application development tools and programming languages
