    Grow Coordinator (C2 - National)

    Location: Abuja (With possible travel to North East)

    Job Description

    • The Grow Coordinator is responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day coordination and communications of the GROW Campaign. Reporting to the Head of Public Engagement and Influencing working with members of the Oxfam International (01) core campaign coordination team, GROW Campaign Management Team and staff from various Oxfam country teams working on different aspects of the campaign.
    • This opportunity is therefore open to a manager that is able demonstrate drive and energy, along with strong communication and campaign skills.

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
    Strategy and Fundraising:

    • Lead (or provide strategic support to) multi-affiliate influencing initiatives including inequality and GROW campaigns, manage complex set of internal relationships, including, Oxfam International, Regional Platform and sign off procedures on policy and advocacy products, to support humanitarian advocacy, inequality in the food system and GROW campaigning
    • Lead the external facing element of the GROW campaign
    • Advise GROW delivery groups on the implementation of the campaign strategy and operational plan
    • Draft and manage funding as needed, providing support to for fundraising efforts -e.g. write concept notes.
    • Direct responsibility for budget management of up to 2- million FUR project per year including significant donor funds.
    • Works with the Programme Quality and Development Manager on design and implementation of the programme’s monitoring, evaluation and knowledge management.
    • Collaborate with Economic Justice Campaign Management Team (EJCMT) and EJ Core, including taking notes; support other team calls where appropriate / possible
    • Lead the technical aspects of programme implementations including drawing up of annual plans.
    • Direct and monitors the coherence and supervises content-related management of the GROW programme; provides highly specific content related and scientific direction; leads the write-ups of global policy briefs and publications and engages with relevant global actors and international policy arena; stimulates innovation within and among all relevant stakeholders
    • Build relations regions and OI staff to ensure excellent information flow via channels

    Educational, Experience and Competencies
    Essential:

    • Advanced University Degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Finance, Economies, Business Administration, Project Management or other relevant discipline. Relevant work experience may be considered.
    • First degree in Economics, Business Administration or related disciplines.
    • Minimum of 7 years progressively responsible positions in an INGO.
    • Proven knowledge of funder regulations, including Global Fund, DFID and EU.
    • Proven background in campaigns and advocacy work, with extensive knowledge of the industry and a solid understanding of agricultural policies and livelihoods issues - particularly those affecting West Africa.
    • Confident at liaising at country and regional level and even global scale,
    • Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with commitment to building collaborative relationships, both directly and indirectly, right across the organisation.
    • Proven leadership, project management and team building skills, including training., giving support and recognising expertise in others.

    Essential Competence:

    • Commitment to Oxfams overall aims and policies arid experience of promoting women’s rights and the interests of marginalized people in all aspects of Oxfams work
    • Knowledge or appreciation of Nigeria in terms of its politica1 economic and social trends plus a good understanding of the key development and humanitarian issues in the region.
    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and report writing skills. Good analytical skills and experience using a computerised information management system (Ms. Word, Excel, Accounting/work related software etc.)

    Desirable:

    • Knowledge and / or experience of common Oxfam norms objects, standards and tools
