    Call For Expression Of Interest Procurement Of Services Of a Documentary Of The Family Health Plus Project

    Introduction
    Family Health Plus (FH+) project is a 3-year intervention, implemented by a consortium comprising Marie Stopes International Organization Nigeria (MSION) as Prime, Marie Stopes International (MSI) and Palladium Group as partners. The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). It aims at strengthening the Nigerian health system by enhancing the competency of the providers to deliver quality voluntary family planning (FP) services especially long acting and reversible methods (LARCs), creating an enabling environment, awareness and demand for improving access to voluntary FP services. Project implementation states include: Benue, Cross River, Edo, Kano, Kaduna Nasarawa, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Plateau, Bayelsa, Delta, Gombe, Imo, Kogi, Katsina Lagos, Niger, Rivers, Taraba States. The project started in April 2014 and will end in March 2017.

    The specific FH+ project result areas include:

    Result 1: Strengthened capacity of healthcare providers and service delivery points to offer voluntary family planning services especially long acting revisable contraceptives.
    Result 2: Improved policy, governance and community environment for family planning.
    Result 3: Increased awareness of and demand for long acting methods.

    Overall Objectives of the procurement of services
    The overall objective of the consultancy is to produce a documentary that describes the processes, strategies, success stories, best practices, challenges, and lessons learned from the FH+ project. The documentary will constitute part of MSION’s knowledge management and would be useful in the design and implementation of similar interventions in Nigeria and beyond.

    Scope of work

    • Document initiatives, processes, success stories, best practices, challenges and lessons learned from the project
    • Document project approaches to show its value for money
    • Create a platform for disseminating success stories, best practices and lessons in Nigeria and beyond

    Information gathering approaches
    The multi-media documentary will use qualitative tools and approaches such as key informant interviews, in-depth interviews, and case studies, and be conducted in five selected states. A desk review of project documents and reports will also be carried out.. The vendor is expected to meet and discuss with the following: Government of Nigeria (at the federal and state levels), USAID-Nigeria, FH+ project management team, field team and consortium partners, Master Trainers, State Level Trained Providers and voluntary FP service providers. The vendor will also talk to providers trained on the use of mobile DHIS2, members of state FP Advocacy working groups and other USAID implementing partners like Society for Family Health (SFH). Note that, consent of all discussants to be interviewed, video recorded or photographed must be obtained before the discussion sessions. The documentary will also comply with the FH+ Branding and Marking Plan.

    Coverage
    The documentary will be at national, donor, organization and project levels.

    Deliverables
    The task will generate the following:

    • A book of best practices with appropriate pictures.
    • A catalogue of Lesson learnt
    • 10 minutes Video Clip
    • Value for Money report
    • A PowerPoint presentation (in the FH+ template) for (please specify audience)

    Duration
    The consultancy is for 30 working days.

    Expertise Requirements
    The work will be awarded to a Firm with Cognate experience in video documentary production; media digitizing/editting Manuscript writing for Health development

    Experience working in Africa including Nigeria Reputable Website with published Health related stories
