    Local Procurement Specialist

    The position holder will be responsible for strategic procurement activities and order management. S/he will be responsible for overseeing and managing of the programme's procurement activities and provide guidance on procurement procedures and compliance.

    Responsibilities

    • Review planned orders, create requisitions for items to be purchased, and manage approval process
    • Support the management of all high valued procurements; national/international tenders, to ensure a timely turn-a-round time
    • Monitor progress of all orders, particularly following up on orders awaiting approvals to avoid any
    • delay in the system
    • Ensure that all suppliers rebted information file is complcte, up-ta-date, and renewed annually
    • Organise regular local market surveys and ensure the Vendor Roster and other supplier information is kept up-to-date and referenced during the procurement process
    • Maintain costing data to enable budget holders have easy access ro prices for budget formulation;
    • Improve systems and procedures for procurement as directed by the Procurement Coordinator
    • Ensure that all comments on delays in procurement, special procuremcnt requirements, or other relevant information are updated daily
    • Correspond with relevant staff on orders awaiting approvals to avoid any delay in delivery of supplies or completion of services
    • Ensure payment paperwork attached to procurement files are complete, correct and have the relevant signatures before being submitted to the finance department for payment
    • Liaise with the finance staff to ensure relevant payment request forms are raised prompcly after delivery of supplies or completion of services

    Knowledge, skills & experience

    • Strong knowledge of the procurement practice in Nigeria
    • Proven ability to develop staff and provide training on systems and procedures
    • Committed team player and ability to work within a multicultural team
    • Strong computer skills in Microsoft packages, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload in a in a dynamic work environment
    • Previous work experience in the health sector

    Minimum Requirement

    • A degree in Precurement, Logistics or Adminstration or any relevant field of study
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
