Job Description
Purpose Statements:
• Account Officer will be responsible for routine accounting activities, documentations, proper filing and archiving of accounting documents.
Key Deliverables
• Maintain the accounts payable and accounts receivable systems in order to ensure complete and accurate records of all monies
• Assist with preparation of the budget
• Establish and maintain cash controls
• Establish, maintain and reconcile the general ledger
• Prepare and reconcile bank statements
• Establish and maintain supplier accounts
• Process supplier invoices
• Maintain the purchase order system
• Issue cheques for all accounts due
• Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system
• Assist with preparation of income statements
• Assist with Preparation of balance sheets
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements
• Prepare quarterly reports and reports on variances
• Assist with the annual audit
• Maintain financial files and records.
Knowledge/Skills:
• Sound knowledge of double entry principle
• Good knowledge of statutory deductions and their remittances.
• Good analytical skills
• Good organizational ability
Minimum Qualification / Experience:
• B.Sc in accounting or other relevant field
• PE1 ICAN passed
• 1 to 2 years experience
