    Protection Officer

    Experience: 3-4 years

    Contract length: 9 months

    Location: Borno

    Job Summary

    The Protection officer will support of the organization management staff with technical advices and guidance for the design, implementation and evaluation of protection programming approach. Also the Protection Officer will be responsible to absolute adherent to Protection issues at field level and among staff.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Protction Mainstreaming
    • Provide protection mainstreaming training for DHCBI staff
    • Manage, mainstream and assure consistency of the implementation of organization Community-based Protection Approach in all targeted communities.
    • In charge of the proper collection, handling, archiving of the data and documentation including providing the analysis and support for all monitoring steps and elaboration of the related indicators.
    • Oversee the timely distribution of food and cash, and report complaints of beneficiaries with cases of nonpayment, and perform follow ups.
    • Proper filing of all related activities documents
    • Works closely with the communities at the field level
    • Participates in the plan and design  of the activities with other project staff of the project and implementation plans
    • Communicates effectively with the organization project team members, other staff of the organization and through sharing information and discussing relevant concerns.
    • Assists in the Coordination of visits and meetings at the field level in coordination with other projects teams.
    • Actively participates in staff meetings and other ad-hoc meetings or workshops as requested by the Projects Manager.
    • Submit weekly and monthly report in a timely manner.
    • Plan, elaborate and ensure proper analysis of data collected, under the supervision of the Project Manager.
    • Performs other related tasks as required.

    Qualifications:          

    University degree in Law, International Law, political Sciences or related field.

    Knowledge, skills and attribute:

    Proven experience in community-based protection, specifically working in  IDPs, host community and refugee setting;

    Experience of implementing and developing systems and processes for participatory monitoring, reporting & evaluation, program reviews / assessments highly desirable;

    Languages:

    Fluency in English both written and oral, Hausa and Kanuri

    Computer/Other Technical Requirements:

    Full professional competency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
