    Chief Executive Officer

    Job Summary
    Drive the formulation, execution, review and update of The Company’s strategies and organization-wide plans that will ensure profitability, growth, and operational excellence and promote a positive image of the company with all stakeholders.
    Primary Responsibilities

        Strategic

    • work with the board to set vision, mission, and annual strategic objectives;
    • develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives;
    • lead the company-wide annual business planning and budgeting process;
    • plan and direct all company activities to achieve set goals and objectives;
    • communicate key information to stakeholders as concern marketplace needs, the competitive environment, cost management, and the provision of high-quality customer-focused brands/products;
    • recommend viable business opportunities or brands for consideration by the board;
    • identify changes in the economic and business environment that may potentially warrant modifications to the company’s business development and operational support strategies and keep stakeholders informed of organizational and environmental changes and trends that may have an impact on current and future performance;

        Business leadership and relationship management

    • drive business growth by championing business development opportunities, capital investment initiatives, operational improvements and strategic alliances and partnerships;
    • lead business development activities, including; market, competitor, customer and industry analyses;
    • monitor and stay abreast of industry, local and global developments, trends and events to ensure the company can improve and sustain its competitive positioning and advantage;
    • outline and obtain approval for expansion strategy. recommend expansion routes including physical branch expansion and alternative sales channels;
    • initiate and manage relationships with franchisors, licensors and other stakeholders to maximize business results;
    • lead or support negotiations with franchisors and licensors with a heavy focus on contract terms and conditions to maximize the company’s commercial interests;
    • define and implement procedures, processes and technologies that would ensure a consistent, streamlined organization that delivers the same customer response/experience at every location;
    • research and recommend technologies that would ensure seamless operations at all locations. stay abreast of retail technology trends to ensure that the organization is positioned to meet the demands and requirements of the dynamic retail industry;
    • ensure strong alignment between business priorities and service priorities, and facilitate excellent communication of priorities within the company;

        Operational

    • develop operations strategies for the achievement of excellence and continuous improvement;
    • instigate, drive and take ultimate responsibility for continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that internal processes meet business requirements;
    • ensure the setting of appropriate performance standards in operations by communicating and reiterating those standards;
    • ensure that store operations and maintenance expertise is provided always;
    • responsible for ensuring that all new stores meet the quality standards of the franchisor or licensor. initiate and monitor all renovation and major maintenance works to ensure optimum performance of all stores;
    • keep abreast of industry developments and innovations that may affect quality of service;
    • ensure that all stores are operated in accordance with agreed contractual terms;

        Human resource management

    • drive the implementation of strategic human resource initiatives;
    • build a strong organizational culture defined by clear principles including—but not limited to—high performance, transparency, growth mindset, and customer-centricity;
    • manage the performance of all direct reports. develop capability of direct reports towards the achievement of their own performance targets;
    • oversee recruitment, performance and career development, welfare and motivation of all employees;

        Stakeholder management

    • develop and implement engagement plans with stakeholders in support of outlined strategy;
    • oversee marketing, media relations, public relations and reputation management activities;
    • ensure appropriate information flow both within and outside the organization;
    • ensure development and implementation of high impact community development programs, in alignment with business operations, ensuring community loyalty and support, and business sustainability;

        Legal, compliance, and risk management

    • understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile;
    • ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements;
    • define and monitor reliable control systems;

        Reporting

    • review and report regularly to the board of directors on the performance of the business
    •     Any other duties assigned by the company’s board of directors.

    Education Requirements

    • minimum of first degree
    • a post graduate qualification, preferably an mba or a relevant master’s degree

    Technical Requirements

    Knowledge Requirements
