Field Research Officer (Short Term) at The International Institute for Local Development

Job Description

The Research Officer will provide support to the survey coordinator in implementing field studies centred around agricultural value chain development in several states in Nigeria. S/he will participate in all the processes of the surveys, including recruitment and training of enumerators, data collection, data analysis and report writing. The assignment will last about eight weeks. Female candidates are strongly encouraged.

Core Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide support to the field team in recruiting, training and managing enumerators
• Supervise regular data collection and ensure quality of the data by random verifications and validation
• Participate actively in programme planning process, including budgeting
• Management of field research tools like tablets and GPS equipment
• Analyze data and prepare study reports
• Provide administrative and logistical support to project teams
• Undertake other tasks as determined by Survey Coordinator

Specific Requirements and Skills

• A university degree in agriculture, social sciences or relevant discipline
• 3-5 years’ experience in development research, including field research.
• Proven experience with KoBoCollect and/or Survey CTO
• Excellent knowledge of SPSS
