Responsibilities

• The Officer shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the performance of his assignment.
• He/She shall be responsible for the production of the University News Bulletin;
• Responsible for media monitoring and relations;
• Responsible for ceremonial links and engagements;and
• Liaison with external bodies among others.

Requirements

• Candidates must possess a good Honours Degree (minimum of second class lower division) in Journalism/Mass Communication from a recognized University and a Masters’ degree in relevant Discipline OR a good Honours Degree plus a Masters’ Degree in any other discipline with a Diploma in Journalism plus evidence of completion/exemption of NYSC.
• The candidate must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience in a University or a Tertiary Institution of comparable status.
• Membership of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is compulsory.
• Computer literacy is compulsory.
