    Job Description

In order to carry out our services, we are creating a network of certified legal practitioners or ‘agents’ whose job it will be to execute work order assignments on behalf of clients looking to verify legal documents and inspect property.

The job of an agent is to receive and execute work orders from clients based on a set daily schedule.

    Example of work orders include:

    • Verification of Land Ownership
    • Inspection of property by an independent party
    • Verifying the identity and credentials of Property sellers/landlords or buyers/renters
    • Verifying Survey Plan
    • Obtaining Governors Consent
    • Preparing Deed of Assignment

Work orders are received and carried out through Propcheck’s own smartphone devices. These devices must be purchased by the agent before they can begin working for Propcheck (more details about purchase process below).

Expected Compensation: â‚¦250,000 to ₦500,000 per month

Please note that all agents will be independent contractors of PropCheck. You will be earning a majority percentage of the fees paid by clients who place work orders on the Propcheck platform. All fees will be paid out as soon as the work order is complete and has been evaluated for quality assurance by our legal specialists.

    Responsibilities:

    • Processing and verification of documents
    • Ensuring all documents are 100% accurate, complete and consistent
    • Verifying the authenticity and validity of documents with government agencies and licensing bodies
    • Verifying the credentials provided by property sellers, buyers or renters on behalf of clients (this includes identity, employment, credit history and work references)
    • Referring new clients to Propcheck

    Requirements:

    • Knowledge of the required documents needed to buy and sell land or property in Nigeria, as well as the order of steps needed to complete a real estate transaction.
    • General local knowledge of residential geographical areas in Lagos or Abuja (knowledge of the particular locality where the buyer or seller is engaging in the real estate transaction is a bonus).
    • Ability to navigate and deal with Government agents and agencies such as the Government Land Registry and Surveyor General’s Office (where most of the required documents can be found) without compromising the integrity of the process.
    • Have good analytical skills (the ability to process lots of information at once and document it correctly)
    • Ability to work within time constraints to achieve targets and deliverables
    • Technical knowledge and ability to use mobile applications and phones
    • Good customer service and people relationship skills
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to source your own clients through Propcheck to maximize earning potential

    Qualifications

    • LLB from an accredited university in Nigeria or abroad
    • Second Class (Upper Division) 2:1
    • Certificate of Call to The Bar
    • Enrolment in the Roll of Legal Practitioners of Nigeria

    Method of Application

    Application Process:

    • Submit Resume to agents@propcheck.ng (due to the number of applicants, we may only respond to those most qualified for the position)
    • Resume must include the following; copy of valid photo ID (NIN or BVN), email address, living address, phone number, name of university attended, name of law school you graduated from, year of graduation, any legal work experience.
    1. Phone Interview
      • Once we have reviewed your submitted resume, we will be reaching out to those most qualified to have a short phone interview. Please check your email as we will contact you there to schedule a time for the call.
    2. Screening Test
      • If the call goes well, the next step will be for applicants to take an online test that evaluates your knowledge of the various documents and legal processes conducted when buying, renting or selling property in Nigeria (this exam will primarily focus on the legal process in Lagos and Abuja). The test should take no longer than 1.5 hours to complete, and you will receive the results within 48 hours. A link to the test will be sent to your email address.
    3. Verification of Law School Graduation and Bar membership
      • Applicants who score 80% or above on our screening test will move onto the next stage, where we will investigate each applicant’s academic credentials and legal certification. Once we have verified proof of Law school attendance, graduation and Bar membership, applicants will be ready to acquire PropCheck devices and receive basic training to become agents.
    4. Purchasing Device
      • Purchase price: $100 (or about â‚¦36,230)
      • Payment options: direct payment, sponsor or monthly payment
      • You can pay for your devices online. Once paid, your device will be available for pickup at our office location.
      • Agents will be able to view instructions on how to use the device by watching the tutorial videos that will soon be shared on our website. If you have any questions, you can email agentsupport@propcheck.ng
    5. 1-Day Training/Shadowing Session
      • Propchecks training will consist of a mandatory 1 day shadowing session with a more experienced agent in order to understand how a typical work day functions. New agents will be automatically paired to current agents through their Propcheck device. Once paired with an agent partner, you will coordinate a time and place to meet for your shadowing session.

Final Note: contracted agents should expect to start work no later than on May 6th, 2019. Between hiring date and start date, Propcheck will send you tips on how to use the device, dealing with clients, completing work orders and other useful pieces of information to help you be successful as an agent.

All questions can be sent to agentsupport@propcheck.ng.
