Summary & Responsibilities
The Business Improvement Manager supports DAI’s outreach, business development, and service delivery in Nigeria through the timely collection and dissemination of key information linked to DAI’s portfolio of projects and activities.
The Specialist will capture and share information on country context, programming trends, good programming practices, needed services, reliable partners and the like to enhance project effectiveness and facilitate broader engagement. Specifically, the Specialist will conduct research, produce short profiles and written products on diverse topics based on need, maintain knowledge databanks, and support learning and knowledge sharing events.
Specific tasks include the following:
- Determine monthly DAI’s analytic and knowledge management needs; advise on strategies and workplans as needed
- Sustain DAI’s knowledge databanks through timely entries and continuous fact-finding/verification
- Support/manage centrally-run knowledge sharing and outreach events, including workshops and conferences
- Work collaboratively with knowledge management teams on DAI projects to understand latest communications, learnings, and learning activities and to ensure alignment and cohesion across DAI’s outreach efforts
- Organize and oversee, as warranted, consultants hired to deepen DAI’s knowledge of issues and events in specific sectors and/or states
- Identify and share, when possible, creative, efficient and effective ways to understand and engage audiences, from peer implementors, to clients, to possible partners
- Adhere to DAI’s quality assurance standards for all externally-shared products (including leaflets, posters, banners, social media newsletters); ensure that products adhere to global DAI guidelines;
Qualifications
- Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 7 or more years of work experience or Masters’/professional degree with 5 or more years of work experience in relevant areas to include: international development, research & analysis, business development, business services, and communications
- /knowledge management.
- In addition, s/he should demonstrate competencies in communicating to a wide range of stakeholders and audiences as well as excellent report writing, facilitation
- and inter-personal skills. The ideal candidate should display proven capacity for research, analysis, strategic planning, and work planning as well as an interest and experience in international development. Knowledge of infographic software a plus.
Terms and Conditions for Employment
This position reports to the Country Director and is based in Abuja with travel to program offices in Nigeria and work locations. DAI offers very competitive salary
