WaterAid Nigeria is midway into implementing its 2016-2021 country programme strategy which sets a 5 year building block towards delivering a more influencing led programme over a 15-year horizon. WaterAid works through supporting local organisations and government authorities to design low cost sustainable projects using appropriate and affordable technologies that can be managed by the community itself. WaterAid also seeks to influence the policy change through government and other key international organisations to secure and protect the right of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services.
We started because no NGO like us existed. We’ll end when no organisation like us is needed. In the meantime, we’re making great progress – since 1981, we have reached 25 million people with clean water and, since 2004, 24 million people with sanitation.
