A Security Supervisor is the Deputy of a Security Officer of a Security Unit of an installation or premises. He oversees the effective management of the daily routine under the guidance and leadership of the Security Officer. He is responsible to ensure that the security guards comply with the Security Standing Orders pertaining to the premises during his Shift duty. Usually, two or more Security Supervisors will share the Shift Duties of a Security Unit round the clock.

Responsibilities:

• To assist the Security Officer in ensuring the safety and security of human beings, valuable materials, and classified documents pertaining to the premises.
•  To efficiently supervise and manage the Security Personnel during his tenure.
•  To train the Security Personnel in all security drills and security procedures laid down in the Standing Orders.
•  To act as Liaison between the Security Unit and Administration Manager in the absence of the Security Officer.
•  Maintain Liaison with local Police Station Fire Station and nearest Hospital.
• To deploy Security Guards during his Shift.
• To make periodic ‘Rounds’ of Sentry Posts to check alertness and compliance of Standing Orders.
• To periodically inspect serviceability of firefighting equipment and Fire Tenders.
• Inspect the log of entry and exit of personnel, materials, vehicles and stores at the commencement of his duty and at the end of his duty.

Be totally accountable for all eventualities during his Shift.

Education requirements:

BSc, HND or ND in related fields or profession.

Qualification requirements:

Less than 1 year in Security Jobs

Experience and skills requirements:

• Should look after the administration, welfare and man-management of his Security Unit.
• Capable of running the Security Unit independently.

Details:

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Chief Security Officer will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the corporate security processes and the various security and safety functions pertaining to all persons and properties.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the security of the personnel and physical assets, including assets protection, workplace violence prevention, access control systems
• Oversee a network of security officers and vendors who safeguard the company’s assets, intellectual property and computer systems, as well as the physical safety of employees and visitors
• Oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation Of safety and security breaches and undertake disciplinary measures and deal with criminal and legal matters associated with such breaches.
• Manage the development and implementation of the company’s security policies, standards guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security.
• Work with other executives to prioritize security initiatives and spending based on appropriate risk management.
• Liaise with appropriate security agencies and regulatory authorities Qualifications / Experience
• A first degree or equivalent qualification required
• Membership of a recognized security association is mandatory
• Must be intelligent, physically fit, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the management team and who is able to communicate security related concepts.
• Can be a Nigeria or expatriate with first class references
• Adequate knowledge of security issues in large organization or government agency
• Good knowledge of crime prevention, investigation, detection and prosecution
• Minimum of 10 years hands on experience.
• Experience with the military or other para military services
