RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other activities of the organisation
• Update and maintain websites according to a schedule and the priorities of the organization.
• Post regularly on established Active Voices’ social media outlets in an innovate ways to increase social media engagement.
• Implement a monitoring system for effectiveness of web communications.
• Provide design input on all publications for the organization.
• Write copy and proof-read copy across all print and digital channels
• Identify and effectively communicate project success by developing success stories and articles.
• Engage with mainstream media (electronic and print) to increase Active Voices’ visibility and promote project impact
• Design and compile technical documents in compliance with donor branding and marking requirements.
• Track and compile stories on gender-based violence
• Prepare agendas and takes minutes of meetings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of a university degree or its equivalent in English, Linguistics, mass communication, journalism, or any social science related fields.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent spoken and written communication, presentation and networking skills
• Knowledge of Graphic Design – CorelDraw and Infographic Development
• Evidence of ability to think strategically; to express ideas clearly; being able to demonstrate a sense of cultural and gender sensitivity.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team.
• Creativity, attention to detail and efficient delivery methods.
• Good leadership skills

Advantageous Competencies:

• Understanding of NGO's operation, best practices and market trends
• Experience in Media Production (including audio and video documentary), Website Design and Content Management (Joomla, WordPress, Photography with ability to use graphics)

The project coordinator works to provide technical and managerial support under the direction of the Program Director. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies and workplans to ensure that program goals and objectives are met. This includes providing strategic inputs for annual workplans, proposal development, analysis of programmatic results, identification and resolution of challenges and program performance, application of lessons learned and best practices to improve program performance, donor reporting, and personnel management.

Duration : 1 year (Renewal is based on availability of funds)

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the primary contact for all information and requests for technical or programmatic assistance for new or ongoing Active Voices’ activities in Nigeria
• Provide direct technical support to ongoing programs as needed
• Ensure that Active Voices’ project management approaches and tools are utilized in the management of projects
• Develop grant proposals and work plans including budgets and modifications as required
• Lead process to proactively identify and document risks that can negatively affect program deliverables, and develop strategies to mitigate risk
• Review projects’ work plans to ensure that they advance the program’s overall strategy, meet key deliverables to achieve project objectives and adequately define work that is achievable within the given time frame and budget
• Ensure that all projects have strong monitoring and evaluation plans and comply with Active Voices’ best practices
• Ensure that all research and learning activities are compliant with review and approval processes of Nigeria’s human research ethical review committee
• Represent Active Voices in professional circles through meetings and conferences

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of a university degree or its equivalent in Public Health or any Social or Health Science related fields. A Master’s degree is an added advantage
• A minimum of two years of experience in the development sector
• Understanding of NGO’s operation, best practices and market trends
• Proficiency in the use of the Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point programmes is essential
• Understanding of local communities and culture in Nigeria
• Intermediate research skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent spoken and written communication, presentation and networking skills are essential
