    Senior Driller

    Qualifications

    • OND/HND/BSc. in any major.
    • Requires a minimum of 8 years in the drilling industry.
    • Must possess current well control certification, 1st Aid, CPR and Forklift/Manlift certificates.
    • Ability to read, write and speak English to be able to understand verbal and written instructions as well as give them.
    • Ability to use simple math to make job related calculations.
    • Knowledge of top drive design and function.
    • Able to work in high places for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to climb derrick structures with required PPE, climb tall flights of stairs, work out of a riding harness for lengthy periods of time and lift 50 lbs.

    Description:

    • Operate drilling equipment as instructed in the well program in a manner that complies with Company policies and procedures.
    • Operate all equipment at the Driller's console in a safe manner; maintain a clean, tidy and hazard- free condition on the drill floor and associated area
    • Monitor the well condition at all times (i.e. depth, mud weight, weight on bit.)
    • Recognize, interpret and respond to down hole conditions
    • Perform drilling- related operations such as directional drilling, working stuck pipe, running and cementing casing strings, coring, fishing, and assisting in wireline logging, well testing, and other special operations.
    • Supervise and direct operations in the picking up or laying down of tubular and all drilling-related equipment
    • Maintain accurate record of tubular and tool dimensions (i.e. internal and external diameter, fish neck, and serial numbers) Ensure that the solid control equipment and mud mixing operations are being monitored constantly
    • Inform Toolpusher/Senior Toolpusher and Client Representative if a deviation from planned operation occurs
    • Keep accurate records of fluid displacement when tubulars are run in/pulled out of well.
    • Complete the daily drilling report at the end of each tour
    • Hold pre-tour meeting with the drilling crew for all drilling operations.
    • Secure the well during an emergency or well control situation; assist in the well-killing operations.
    • Supervise the lubrication and maintenance of all drilling and associated equipment and ensure it is carried out in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance System (RMS).
    • Maintain equipment files, drilling logs and records; perform all technical calculations required to carry out drilling operations Assist during the running and retrieving of marine risers and BOP stack
    • Assist in the planning, organization and supervision of rig move operations

    Derrickman/Derrickhand

    Description:

    • Checks and maintains all equipment in the mud system; is responsible for housekeeping of mud system
    • Controls mud properties and mud volume in consultation with the Mud Engineer and Driller; this includes mixing mud and chemicals with the assistance of other rig crew
    • Provides proper maintenance and operation of the mud pump(s) on the rig
    • Maintains mud equipment parts inventory, as well as mud materials
    • Handles drill pipe and drill collars, while working derrick, laying down pipe, and running casing
    • Greases crown, blocks, shale shaker, winchline, sandline and tong line sheaves and checks crown-o-matic and escape line
    • Operates Iron Derrickman safely while tripping and making connections, on rigs equipped with Iron Derrickman
    • Provides close supervision for Floorhand, giving instructions and training, while ensuring good work practices
    • Informs relief, at shift change, of both routine and unusual information regarding the job
    • Works with the Rig Manager and Driller to ensure compliance with Safety rules by all rig crew members
    • Performs other duties as directed by management

    Mud Engineer/Mud Man

    Qualifications

    • OND/HND/BSc. in any major.
    • 5+ years of experience as a Mud Engineer/Mud Man
    • Must be able to work 24/7 on call

    • Responsible for monitoring the drilling fluids system along with inventory needs.
    • Monitors daily progress of job(s) or project(s).

    Drilling Rig Mechanic

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge and skills in well service equipment/vehicle repair or preventive maintenance
    • Must be skillful in rebuilding, inspecting and repairing equipment, including hydraulic, electrical and overhauling engines and transmissions
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
    • Ability to demonstrate safe work habits and work well with others

    Description:

    • Performs routine and moderately complex scheduled maintenance or repair work including overhauling engines and transmissions
    • Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, belts, conveyors, fans, air conditioners, etc.
    • Disassembles machines and repairing or replacing broken parts, as well as cleaning and lubricating parts
    • Checks mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble, adjusting functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary
    • Inspects completed repairs by less experienced mechanics
    • Performs preventive maintenance inspection, including DOT annual inspections
    • Works in the shop or in the field depending on work assignments or work location
    • May be assigned to work in rig operation in accordance to company rig operating procedures, and receive other specialized training on the subject of Hazard conditions

    Drilling Rig Electrician

    Qualifications

    • OND/HND/BSc. in any major.
    • Knowledge of local electrical codes and standards pertaining to non-hazardous and hazardous areas
    • Basic comprehensive mechanical knowledge on hydraulics, diesel engines, motor pumps and top drives
    • Must be able to read and write English, in order to prepare daily reports
    • Good communication, mathematical and computer skills

    Description:

    • Install and maintain silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) unit, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) equipment and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) systems
    • Maintain an inventory of electrical spare equipment, housed at the rigs or in the shop
    • Test circuit connections using electrical test equipment
    • Install and repair lighting systems when required
    • Repair electrical equipment such as panel lighting, circuit breakers, junction boxes, voltage regulators and reverse current relays
    • Participate in ongoing training and company safety programs for new equipment and technologies as it becomes necessary including days off training
    • Coordinate with Electrical Foreman on the repair and refurbishment of equipment
    • Plan and propose both a maintenance required and routine repairs budget
    • Work closely with electrical contractors to ensure the best needs of the company are being met
    • Work very closely with rig crews to ensure proper training and to ensure that electronic safety systems are not bypassed
    • Ability to work on 24-hour notice in response to mechanical breakdowns
    • Various other duties as required. (Duties and responsibilities may be added or changed at any time at the discretion of your manager, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.)
