    Accounts Assistant

    Details:

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a motivated Accounts Assistant who is an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills who will be responsible for daily accounting tasks that will support our Accounting team. The incumbent will also be responsible for receiving and disbursing cash and will ensure proper documentation of all cash receipts and disbursements.

    Responsibilities

    • Receive cash for office running expenses
    • Disburse cash received to meet office operations
    • Ensure all vouchers are properly filed in a sequential order together with the supporting documents
    • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
    • Create and update expense reports
    • Process reimbursement forms
    • Prepare bank deposits
    • Prepare payment vouchers
    • Enter financial transactions into internal databases
    • Check spreadsheets for accuracy
    • Maintain digital and physical financial records
    • Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed
    • Carry out monthly payment of PAYE, VAT, WHT and pension contributions
    • Visit banks and other statutory bodies
    • Ensure collection of bank statements for filing
    • Keep record of cheques received and paid out
    • Raise petty cash vouchers

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • OND in Accounting or any related discipline
    • Age between 25 - 30
    • Ability to multi task and work under pressure
    • Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience working in the same capacity in a structured organization
    • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
    • Organization skills
    • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
    • Ability to work unsupervised

    Secretary

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a suitably competent Secretary who will be responsible for undertaking a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the practice administrator and will also provide support in assigned legal cases.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide administrative support to the Firm
    • Greet visitors and perform initial screening of clients
    • Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate
    • Effectively communicate with partners, clients and colleagues
    • Conduct thorough statistical/ documentary research
    • Source and verify important case intelligence
    • File, organize, scan, copy and fax legal documents
    • Produce and file various legal documents such as appeals, motions or petitions
    • Preserve an updated case record system
    • Maintain and update inventories of contact details
    • Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • HND/B.Sc degree in secretarial studies or a related discipline
    • Member of professional bodies is an added advantage
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the same capacity in a structured organisation
    • Relevant work experience within a law firm environment would be an advantage
    • Knowledge of constitution, legal terminology, regulations and court system
    • Experience in using Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, dictaphone, etc)
    • Working knowledge of litigation management software systems is a plus
    • Proficiency in English
    • Outstanding time-management and typing skills
    • Ability to multitask and being comfortable dealing with a diverse pool of people
    • Strong IT skills and familiarity with the use of databases and the internet
    • Team working and management skills
    • Strong presentation and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • A strong work ethic that reflects a collaborative, adaptable and results-oriented approach
    • Ability to work unsupervised
