    Agro Economist Advisor

    Details:

    Technical/Functional Skills

    • You are expected to work with the Software Requirements Specification team to documents functional requirements of the envisioned software within the framework of the project.
    • To realize this, the Agro Economist advisor will document information requirements of each module of the envisioned software with the business/functional requirements at the highest-level and the detailed system requirements listed as their child items for the implementation of the project in collaboration with the project team.
    • Conduct Value Chain Analysis and documentation of functional requirements to address critical gaps associated with targeted commodities.
    • Design a draft Project Implementation Manual to guide software development efforts on the key value chains
    • Describe the "non-functional" requirements that define the "quality" of the envisioned software
    • Review existing practices across each component of the agricultural value chain and recommend ways to streamline them
    • List the relevant agro produce in Nigeria based on demand
    • Liaise with other team members to craft content plan for knowledge base
    • Interview relevant institutions and recommend best practice
    • Minimum 10 years of experience managing or advising private sector, value chain, or business development projects using the value chain or market solutions approach. Experience working on Agricultural App development projects preferred. Additional experience in the private sector experience desired.
    • Experience conducting value chain assessments and determining appropriate interventions to enhance agricultural productivity and market access to farmers.
    • Experience in farm and firm level production cost and profit analysis desired.
    • Experience in developing programs aimed at upgrading agricultural value chains through enhanced private sector engagement.
    • Strong working experience with key value chain stakeholders (producers, traders, enterprise groups, rural financing institutions/banks, and research/policy associations).
    • Experience in developing PPPs and other private sector alliances.
    • Experience in advisory or consulting roles in support of local agriculturally focused NGOs and CBOs.
    • Relevant work experience in complex environment and protracted crises
    • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity.
    • Strong written and oral communications and group facilitation skills is required.
    • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Access, Power-point, and internet communication.

    Finance and Account Expert

    Details:

    You are expected to work with the Software Requirements Specification team to documents financial and accounting requirements of the envisioned software within the framework of the project.

    To realize this, the Finance and Accounts expert is expected to leverage his financial management knowledge to document functional requirements of the relevant module(s) of the envisioned software with the business/functional requirements at the highest-level and the detailed system requirements listed as their child items for the implementation of the project in collaboration with the project team.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct cost and benchmarking analyses
    • Define the requisite financial requirements and workflows
    • Develop financial models, taking legal limitations into consideration to guide software development efforts
    • Design audit framework and recommend corrective financial action plans
    • Identify and interview relevant financial institutions and recommend best practice where applicable
    • Provide accurate system economics analysis, insights, benchmarks and reporting standard in a Systems Economics function to guide the software requirement specification team by providing deep understanding of the financial functions and systems within the framework of the envisioned software
    • Design and review fiscal policies in line with the framework of the project
    • Collaborate with relevant team members to document business and systems use cases and design financial workflows

    Required Skills

    • Proven work experience as a Financial Specialist, Financial Analyst or relevant role
    • Experience in Software Requirement Specification is an added advantage
    • Experience in working in similar roles
    • Understanding of financial and accounting principles
    • An ability to analyze market trends and provide data-based advice
    • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
    • An ability to present and explain investment information and financial plans
    • BS degree in Finance, Economics or related field
    • Additional qualification (e.g. CPA or CFA) a plus

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and analyze effective logistics services, suggest and execute on time improvements and corrective actions.
    • Compile and document system requirement to guide the software development effort
    • Streamline point-to-point transportation cost and recommend cost effective options
    • Design a framework for physical cataloging, warehousing, inventorying, material control coordination and data entry assisting different supply activities.
    • Craft logistics policies, procedures, support plans and similar data.
    • Develop plan for accountability of property and issues maintenance.
    • Design framework for inventory divergence, resolving issues and updating database to replicate property movement.
    • Providing advice and recommending on pertinent accountability procedures and policies, discrepancies of information and divergence from regulations.

    Weather and Climate Expert

    Details:

    You are expected to work with the Software Requirements Specification team to document the climate and weather requirements of the envisioned software within the framework of the project.

    To realize this, the Climate expert is expected to leverage his knowledge to document functional requirements of the climate module(s) of the envisioned software with the business/functional requirements at the highest-level and the detailed system requirements listed as their child items for the implementation of the project in collaboration with the project team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical support on climate and ensure compliance with environmental legislation
    • review and analyze climate and weather requirements of relevant crops in Nigeria using best practice and emerging technologies
    • recommend best practice ways to present reports to the semi-literate farmer in a way that he/she can comprehend
    • Craft a content plan for the envisioned knowledge base
    • Document the best practice requirements of the envisioned software with particular reference to farming and harvesting of listed products
    • Define the business and functional requirements of the climate module of the envisioned software
    • Craft a frame work for keeping up to date with relevant changes in environmental legislation and initiatives including international legislation where applicable
    • Liaise with relevant agencies to ensure best practice is adopted
    • devising strategies to meet targets and to encourage best practice
