Background
The T-SON II Project is an anticipated Programme and subject to being awarded the grant by AmplifyChange UK to provide information and services that will lead to change in social norms and attitudes underpinning harmful cultural practices such as female genital mutilation. T-SON II Nigeria is planning to contract Community Engagement Officers on a part time basis, to help the Project meet its growing need for quality engagement and public interaction services. The successful applicant will provide technical support to the Communication Officer and or Advocacy Lead in penetrating communities and contribute to the development and improvement of project deliverables, risk mitigation and attitudes transformation produced by the Project. He/She will ensure that T-SON II’s activities at community level follows donor specified community engagement guidelines, provide the best possible functionality and usability to the project partners and contribute to the overall project success.
These positions will be based tentatively in Osun, Oyo, Imo and Ebonyi states.
The responsibility of this consultancy is to ensure the implementation and adherence to existing community mobilization for action guidelines; advocacy entry points, layout of mapping and design of innovative approaches.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Implement T-SON II’s branding policy:
Detailed specifications for each individual assignment will be given to the selected Community Engagement Officer (s) as and when the Officer’s services are requested.
Qualification and Expertise
The successful entity is required to meet the following criteria:
Esential: University Degree in Advocacy, communications, journalism, public health and/or related field.
Desirable: An Education combination of advocacy, communication, journalism, and/or media with public health or a health related field.
Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in the field of advocacy and community interventions on sexual and reproductive health and rights issues.
Skills: Strong theoretical and practical background in community mobilization or action, leadership and ability to successfully interact with diverse stakeholders at local and national level.
Background
The Youth Network for Community and Sustainable development is an youth lead development NGO and parent Organization to the Youth Network Against FGM in Nigeria.
The Youth Network Against FGM is currently pre-positioning for a new AmplifyChange funded Project on Building Evidence to end FGM/C in Nigeria. The Project is for 6 months and anticipated to commence in September 2018. The Project is aimed at developing M&E Tools and Products needed to sustain the transformation
of social norms that underpin FGM/C.
Purpose of Job
Working in close collaboration with the Technical Specialist and Programme Managers, the M&E officer mainly manages the progress of the anticipated AmplifyChange funded
Project- Building Evidence to End FGM.
Reports to: Technical Specialist
Supervision and Working Relationships
The M&E Officer is supervised by the Technical Specialist and Programme Manager who support him/her as necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.

It will ensure that T-SON II’s products and reports are following donor specified communication guidelines, provide the best possible functionality and usability to the project partners and contribute to the overall branding process.
The responsibility of this consultancy is to ensure the implementation and adherence to existing communication guidelines; layout of reports and publications in English, and pigeon English; development of new public engagement communication solutions; and design of innovative products.

Qualification and Expertise
The successful entity is required to meet the following criteria:
Essential: University Degree in communications, journalism, media, public health and/or related field.
Desirable:
Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in the field of health and science communications,
Experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights will be an added advantage.
Skills: Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Design Premium, In-Design, CorelDraw, web design tools such as Dreamweaver and Flash,etc. Ability to think out of the box, flexibility and high attention to details.
