    Financial Planning Accountant (Management Reporting)

    Job Description

    • To prepare, analyse, review and report MTNN financial and operational performance to external parties and contribute towards the development of accounting practices to ensure MTNN complies with the highest financial management principles and accuracy of financial records.
    • To ensure prompt and accurate reporting of MTN Foundation’s financial performance to Management
    • To continuously review and ascertain the integrity and accuracy of information in MTNN’s reports to external parties
    • Analyze operating reports for MTNN and report on variances against budgets.
    • Prepare and forecast financial statements
    • Interpret accounting/financial information in order to evaluate the financial performance of MTNN business operations.
    • Preparation of MTN Foundation financial and operational performance reports to management, analysing MTNF Operating Expense reports and report on variances against budgets.
    • Develop and manage financial management systems, policies and procedure, making appropriate recommendations for modifications and improvements.
    • Undertake financial evaluation and projection for identified MTN Foundation projects, ensuring accurate deduction of taxes and prompt rendering of returns
    • Review of accounting transactions in financial statements for compliance with IFRS
    • Monitor cross system integration between MTNN & MTNF IFS, Hyperion.
    • Undertake financial evaluations and projections for identified projects.
    • Assist with year-end audit and statutory and regulatory returns to ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
    • Assisting with products/services review with the drafting of technical accounting opinions in accordance with IFRS
    • Ensure value is created when responding to enquiries regarding budget procedures and information from customers
    • Contribute to evaluation of management accounting systems, procedures and practices and make appropriate recommendation for modifications and improvements to stakeholders
    • Liaise with MTNF project coordinators, bankers and suppliers to ensure efficient processing and payment of transactions

    Experience & Training    

    • First degree in Accounting or other Finance related discipline.

    Senior Manager, Revenue Management

    Job Description

    • Maximising revenue by reducing revenue leakage and identifying revenue opportunities in relevant processes both in the mobile and Fixed environment
    • Support the Shareholder return strategy by developing and implementing the Division’s processes that are aligned to achieving all elements on the business score card. (I.e. Grow Market Share, Grow ICT & Data Revenue, Increase EBITDA margins, Assure Revenue, CAPEX Returns Management and Net Subscriber Additions).
    • Participate in the review of Business Processes (headcount, process optimisation etc), to drive efficiency gains to ensure at least 5% reduction in Divisional budget year-on-year.
    • Participate in Contract negotiations to reduce cost and drive MTNN Value Creation Philosophy.
    • Provides financial leadership to ensure design and delivery of services are within the overall financial mandate.

    • Support the GM with articulating a clear and compelling vision and translate strategy into a roadmap for success for Revenue Assurance
    • Actively explore avenues for maximising revenue by reducing revenue leakages and identifying revenue opportunities.
    • Be Responsible for continuous improvement and special projects to identify new revenue opportunities;
    • Review and recommend changes on all revenue related policies, processes, procedures and business rules to minimise revenue leakage;
    • Research, document and implement industry best practices with regard to Revenue Assurance
    • Provide assistance to all WECA OPCOS by sharing knowledge and incidents reports as applicable or requested;
    • Maintain the status of MTNN as a revenue responsible organization by creating alertness for detecting revenue leakage, over-billing as well as maximizing revenue opportunities across the organisation

    General Manager, Investor Relations

    Job Description

    • To build and manage MTN Nigeria’s capacity to effectively engage, maintain and build new relationships with its various strategic stakeholders including equity investors, debt investors and other relevant stakeholders and maximise stakeholder communication opportunities by providing input and ensuring an integrated & effective strategy.

      • Develop necessary templates for results announcements, results presentations and the annual report
    • Project manage, or work with the project manager, if such is appointed, MTN Group Mergers & Acquisitions, MTN Group Investor Relations and the project advisers, to effect the listing of MTN Nigeria, in accordance with the requisite approvals, in a commercially acceptable manner.
    • Oversee the review of and input to investor road shows, proposed prospectus and other relevant listing documents
    • Ensure all disclosure requirements are met and Identify ways to enhance disclosure
    • Develop content and collateral for results presentation, the Stock Exchange news service, conference call scripts and press releases on financial information and internal documents.
    • Create content for CEO results and conference presentations to communicate a clear and concise story on strategy and performance.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory bodies including the NSE, SEC, CAMA, FRC and the National Code of Corporate Governance.
    • Identify ways to enhance disclosure in line with the recommendations set by King III and subsisting corporate governance codes in Nigeria.
    • Timeous reporting to MTN Group Finance and MTN Group Investor Relations regarding MTN Nigeria periodic reporting, any material developments, any Stock Exchange or other announcements
    • Review business environment and develop approach /strategy as well as drive strategic and multi- steps platforms of communications to proactively engage internal and external stakeholders, developing dynamic communications strategies which align local requirements with Group objectives.
    • Support MTN’s chief spokesperson & represent MTN and its interests in partner organizations as directed by Executive Management
    • Be at the forefront of expectation management whilst eliciting empathy & understanding for MTN
    • Liaison with MTN Group Investor Relations
    • Responsible for creating IR sections of the annual report in respect of operational and investor disclosure, including focus on The NSE compliance requirements.
    • Liaise with sponsoring broker and provide advice on investor targeting based on review of shareholder register, etc.
    • Liaise with sponsoring broker and Company Secretary on listing and regulatory disclosure requirements
    • In partnership with Group Investor Relations, drive the investor relations contact with local and international existing shareholders, potential investors and sell side analysts.
    • Enhance and manage relationships with MTN Nigeria CEO, CFO, CTO and Regulatory and MTN Group Finance and MTN Group Investor Relations
    • Build new and manage existing relationships with key stakeholders i.e. peers, seniors, investors, analysts and vendors
