    Senior Project Officer - Economic Diversification

    Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

    Job Purpose

    • To lead on the design, implementation and monitoring of Economic Diversification projects under the 2- year Conflict and Stabilisation Programme in the Niger Delta region.
    • This role will require the individual Intake full responsibility for the completion and success all the project and ensure adherence to SDN’s Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) process.

    Key Areas of Responsibilities

    • Strategy and Programme Development 20%
    • Programme implementation 60%
    • External Relations and Communications 10%
    • Fundraising 10%

    Duties
    Strategy and Programme Development:

    • Assist in the development and implementation of SDN’s mission and vision in the Niger Delta
    • Asset with regular macro/micro-economic analysis and themes in the Niger Delta
    • Contribute to develop and deepen SDN’s understanding of the trends, opportunities and threats to
    • Economic Diversification in the Niger Delta

    Programme Implementation:

    • Lead the process of planning, development and implementation of action pilot projects
    • Lead the development and implementation of research and data collection processes representatives, civil society and other relevant project stakeholders
    • Deliver insightful project communications that feed the SDN external communications process.

    External Relations and Communications:

    • Identify, build and leverage relationships that are key to promoting economic diversification in the Niger Delta
    • Contribute in developing appropriate strategies for advocacy with key SDN partners.

    Qualifications
    Assessment of candidates will be based on proven experience and capacity with evidence of the following or equivalent experience as follows:

    • Postgraduate degree in Business Administration or a related qualification
    • At least 5 yesrs’ experience in business development and project management in the private sector in the Niger Delta
    • Demonstrate knowledge and capacity in managing multiple projects for business growth
    • Spoken and written fluency in English-Written articles/examples of your writing ability in relation to governance in Nigeria.

    Environmental Officer

    Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

    Job Purpose

    • To support the development and implementation of SDN projects and activities in its Environment and Resource Governance pillars.
    • This role will require the individual to take full responsibility for the completion and success of projects and ensure project adherence to the PMEL process.

    Key Areas of Responsibilities

    Duties

    • Assist with regular analysis of environmental issues in the Niger Delta
    • Contribute to develop and deepen SDN’s understanding of its focus areas and methods

    Programme Implementation:

    • Contribute to the process of planning, development and implementation of environmental projects
    • Support the development and implementation of research and data collection processes
    • Support the analysis, review and final output process for all project reporting,

    External Relations and Communications:

    • Identify, build and leverage relationships that are key to promoting stability and development in the Niger Delta
    • Hold regular communication and networking with local partners, local and national institutions’ and external
      actors

    Qualifications
    Assessment of candidates will be based on proven experience and capacity with evidence of the following or equivalent experience as follows:

    • Postgraduate degree in Environment, Resource Governance or related field;
    • Spoken and written fluency in English. Written articles? examples of your writing ability in relation to environmental issues in Nigeria;
    • Demonstrate knowledge of key legislation and regulatory frameworks that govern environmental management and the oil and gas industry
    • At least 4 years experience in managing Environmental projects and engaging in key advocacy activities
    • IT skills: word, excel and online communication skills:
    • Strong oral and written communications skills;
    • Proven experience supporting and managing project staff:
    • Donor reporting experience At least five (5) years of experience in environment, resource governance, peace-building, development; and/or related fields, including democracy and governance issues

    Conflict and Stabilisation Programme Team Lead

    Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

    Job Purpose

    • To lead, coordinate and support the development and implementation of a 2-year Conflict and Stabilization Programme in the Niger Delta region.
    • This role mill require the individual to take lull responsibility for file completion and success of the programme and ensure its adherence to SDN’s Planning. Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) system and donor requirements.

    Responsibilities
    The Team Lead will ensure the strategic direction of the SDN project, focusing on management, supervision and quality control of the full cycle of programming from formulation to project delivery and reporting achieving the following results:

    • Strategic oversight of planning, budgeting and implementing of the programme, tracking use of financial resources end timely achievements of programming objectives;
    • Setting up milestones and targets for the programme and constant monitoring and programme quality control, in collaboration with SON’s Programme Management team: and constant monitoring and analysis of the environment, making recommendations for readjustments on a monthly and quarterly basis.

    Tasks
    The below responsibilities include specific tasks for each stage of the project as well as on-going management tasks:

    Project design and early Implementation:

    • Lead on the strategic and operational planning process in the Nigeria office and prepare drafts of key strategic and operational planning documents, in close cooperation with senior SDN management

    On-going management tasks:

    • Direct and supervise the programme staff in day.to-day operations of projects. in accordance with the project M&E operational plan, providing any necessary support and mentoring to ensure smooth, timely and effective implementation of project activates.

    Reporting and communication:

    • Supervise preparation of work plans, timesheets and activity budgets to each project/activity and staff member

    Qualifications
    Assessment of candidates will be based on proven experience and capacity with evidence of the following or equivalent experience as follows:

    • Post graduate degree in Social Sciences or related field;
    • At least 5 years’ experience in programme management in peace building, development; and/or related fields including democracy and governance issues
    • Donor reporting experience
    • Proven ability to negotiate multiple relationships with various stakeholders and local partners
