    NOC Support Engineer

    Department: Technical
    Unit: NOC Supervisor

    Responsibilities

    • The NOC Engineer will be responsible for the first line network monitoring, surveillance and fault management support on the elements and components of the MainOne network, using various network management and trouble ticketing systems. Specifically, the NOC Engineer’ responsibility includes:
    • Monitor Main One’s network providing specific update, status and performance of all network components, capacity services etc.
    • Identify and provide at least first line support on all faults on the Main One network in accordance with the Company’s standard operating procedure for fault escalation and management.
    • Open a trouble ticket (TT) for every network event and ensure it is tracked up to the point of closure.
    • Maintain and ensure full compliance with all MainOne’s NOC processes and procedures
    • Ensure proper technical documentation of all network events throughout normal/shift cycle or operations.
    • Answer all network support related telephone calls and interface with internal/external customers on operational issues and related network events, using Main One’s standard operating procedures.
    • Run daily and weekly management reports on network events and activities as well as tracking escalations and other key performance indicators.
    • Ensure all customer SLAs are met.

    Contact: Under the supervision of the NOC Supervisor, you will be required to liaise and interface with other groups/departments typically involved in the Technical Management of the project.

    Qualifications

    • HND/B.Sc in any relevant technical discipline
    • 3-5yrs relevant experience
    • CCNA/CCNP certification preferred.

    Solutions Architect

    Department: Technical
    Reporting Line: Lead, FSI, Non-Core & Managed Network Services

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical and business consultative leadership throughout the technical life cycle of technical solutions.
    • Will be involved from pre-sales solution formulation through system deployment; including bid preparation and customer interface resulting in solutions architecture proposals.
    • The Solutions Architect will develop and articulate solutions based on a customer's strategic business or technical requirements ascertained from working with multiple business units across the customer's organization.
    • Coordinate with the sales team in formulating and building up proposal knowledge, including making technical demos and presentations to Main One customers.
    • Assist in the translation of customer needs/technical requirements to appropriate solutions by liaising with customers to understand, anticipate and meet their specific needs.
    • Design service solutions for Manages Network Service customers in line with ITIL and/or industry best practice
    • Proven business development experience and familiarity with SME markets
    • Demonstrate ability, determination and tenacity to move major initiatives forward and drive focus while consistently thinking of the bottom-line impact of the efforts
    • Contribute proactively to new service development.
    • Manage and develop strategic partnerships with third party suppliers and other internal stakeholders for Managed Network Services.
    • Ensure quality, up-to-date documentation exists for all service arrangements

    Supervisor:

    • To work directly under the supervision  of the Lead, FSI, Non-Core & Managed Network Services

    Contact:    

    • The Solutions Architect report directly to the Technical Sales Manager.
    • The Solutions Architect work closely with members of the Managed Network Service Team, Sales, Vendor Management, External Vendors, Project Management, Service delivery and members of other teams as required from time to time.

    The Solutions Architect has regular contact with a number of internal and external stakeholders, these include but are not limited to:

    • Abuja Sales Managers
    • Project Manager
    • Managed Services
    • Service Delivery
    • Legal
    • CTO
    • Product Development
    • Team members
    • Customers
    • Technical Operations (TX, IP, OSP, DC and GNOC).

    Competencies Required:    

    • Experience with Cisco equipment essential. In-depth level knowledge of networking technologies including but not  limited to: TCP/IP (e.g. interpreting a packet trace file), WAN technologies,
    • VPN (Layer 2 & 3) , QoS, firewalls, routers, switches, DNS, Metro Ethernet, SDH, EoSDH, DWDM, VOIP and Data Centre Designs
    • Experience in designing and deploying standardized Voip technologies; SIP and H.323
    • In-Depth knowledge of Radio/Microwave and terrestrial transmission systems.
    • Experience in telecom architecture.
    • Experience in WLAN technologies (Controllers, WAPs, and 802.11 fundamentals)
    • Familiarity with 802.11g/n/ac/ax standards
    • Experience relating business requirements to system and infrastructure components and designing the bill of materials for a project.
    • Creative and innovative approach.
    • Proactive with a positive 'can do' approach.
    • Sound commercial business understanding and risk aware
    • Knowledge of Radio/Microwave and terrestrial transmission systems.
    • Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Information Communication Technology or E Engineering
    • Cisco CCNA/CCDA/CCIP/CCNP/CCDP/CWNA
    • Certifications in Cloud Technologies is considered a plus for this position.
    • At least two (3) years of experience in proposal development, designing architecture, and implementing enterprise applications and systems.
    • At least five (5) years industry experience.

    NOC Supervisor

    Department: Technical
    Unit: Network Operations.
    Reporting Line: GNOC Manager

    Responsibilities

    • The NOC Technical Supervisor will be responsible for the first/second line network Support on the elements and components of the Main One network.
    • To support the MAIN ONE network 24-hour per day and 7 days a week basis.
    • Ensure that routine preventive maintenance procedures are carried out on all transmission, interconnect, and associated ancillary equipment contained within the network and deploy procedures for promptly implementing corrective maintenance.
    • Ensure that any equipment faults are rectified in a timely and efficient manner
    • Ensure the network restoration exercises, or network traffic restoration activity requested by the NOC are done as approved.
    • Ensure proper organizational attention to the problem, escalation or corrective action
    • Develop technical solutions to faults and troubles and implement solutions as appropriate, ensuring that service is restored on an optimum schedule.
    • Ensure the organization and motivation of the NOC Support Engineers
    • Ensure the provision of feedback to GNOC Manager on the status of network events.
    • Ensure network performance reports are generated and delivered on time.
    • Ensure the provision of training for NOC Engineers, where applicable.

    Contact :

    • Under the supervision of the GNOC Manager, you will be required to liaise and interface with other groups/departments typically involved in the Technical Management of the project.

    Qualifications

    • HND/B.Sc in any relevant discipline.
    • 5-7 years of relevant experience
    • Professional Certification in CCNA/CCNP preferred
    • ITIL V1 Certified

    Competencies Required:

    • Technical & Professional proficiency (Operation and Maintenance field, preferably for a large ISP, ASP, web hosting facility, data centre or telecommunications company.
    • Experience running a submarine cable landing station is preferred and a plus.

    • Experience in submarine, multiplexing transmission system with specific experience providing operational support on a transmission network
    • Leadership &self- management skills
    • Relationship Management
    • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
