    Senior Account Manager / Account Manager / Account Executive

    Job description

    Our client is looking for highly motivated and experienced Senior Account Manager(s), Account Manager(s) and Account Executive(s) to work in a challenging work environment.

    DJEMBE COMMUNICATIONS is a strategic communications consultancy with a strong presence in some of the world’s fastest growing markets in Africa and is experiencing a significant growth phase in its Sub-Saharan African business, particularly in Nigeria.

    This role requires proactivity and an innovative and creative way of thinking. The chosen candidate will be based in Lagos and will be reporting to the Country Manager

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Ensuring the day-to-day PR activity for clients is conducted to a high standard and in a timely manner
    • Proactively keeping up to date with client-specific media, industry and digital developments and seeking to apply this knowledge in their work
    • Building trusted relationships with journalists and media professionals covering their specialism/client area and develops their external network
    • Managing budgets for client projects and demonstrating an understanding of company profitability issues 
    • Using the full range of media and digital tools available to devise, review, evaluate and present progress on campaigns and projects, identifying gaps and recommend improvements
    • Conducting effective media sell ins & identifying most propitious opportunities for client coverage
    • Delivering accurate written communications and being able to write a range of copy for client and media use
    • Demonstrating commercial awareness as well as using knowledge of traditional and digital media in Nigeria and wider Africa to maximize PR opportunities
    Desired Skills and Experience
    • University Degree in Marketing & Communication from a respected university
    • 2 years (min) for Executive role and 5 years (at least) for Manager positions of prior experience in a PR agency in Nigeria with exposure to clients from the public sector or large companies
    • Deep knowledge of African market and proven experience in Project Management
    • Strong administrative and organization skills, ability to juggle multiple and changing priorities
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to think strategically and excellent commercial skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
    • Any other Latin language is a welcome asset
