Accelerate Arla Foods’ market position in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA)
Can you build and develop Arla Foods’ business in SSA markets to realize our ambitious growth plan in this region? Then join us as a Business Development Manager driving a newly established business unit focusing on the markets in the Sub Sahara African region. The role will be based out of the regional SSA office in Lagos, Nigeria. The on-boarding will be handled by the regional business development for the Middle East & Africa (MEA) in Dubai, to secure you get acquainted with the way we work with business development in the region. This on-boarding will require a number of trips to Dubai during the first 3 months. You will report directly to the Vice President of SSA and functionally to regional business development in Dubai.
You will play a major role in driving the strategy for the African markets. Together with the SSA management team, you will develop and implement market growth strategies, M&A projects as well as joint ventures with local partners. In addition, you support on our general strategy agenda, just as you will drive designated projects on commercial excellence across the region. We expect you to challenge status quo, add ambition and drive speed and excellence throughout our business in SSA.

Strong consulting or business development background within FMCG industry
Ideally, you have a business degree supplemented with at least 2 years’ experience from a top-tier management consulting firm or a vast experience from a business development function within the FMCG industry. You have strong analytical skills, a global strategic mindset and a filled project management toolbox that enable you to lead projects independently with limited supervision. Preferably, you have experience with strategy and M&A projects from an FMCG environment.
Moreover, you are a skilled communicator with an extrovert attitude and an open mind. You are comfortable working in an international setting where you cooperate closely with other business areas and stakeholders across cultural differences. It goes without saying that you must have an excellent command of English, if you can get by in French, it will be an advantage. Furthermore, we expect you to be an advanced user of the applications in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
