Our client, in the hospitality industry, located in Ikoyi, Lagos is looking to hire a full-time Hospitality Accountant.
The potential candidate would be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial operations of the Hospitality Division of the hotel and restaurant.
Detailed analysis of the hospitality books, recording of revenues, the disbursement of payments, and keeping of records is just some of the job description of this role.
Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of accounts payables.
Manage guest and vendor relations and the accounts payables disbursements, handle all check disbursements, and tax-related matters.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounting functions, including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable and project accounting.
Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
Ensure accuracy of financial statements.
Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information.
Enter status change information into project accounting software to ensure employee information is accurate and up-to-date.
Provide accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff.
Respond to financial questions and concerns to meet business needs.
Act as a liaison between the company, government and external accountants to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or its equivalent is required.
At least 4 years of experience in Hospitality Finance/Accounting is preferred.
Experience with the use of accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage 50 is important.
Excellent understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and accounting transactions.
Ability to use accounting and finance tools to perform effective financial analysis and reporting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and cooperate with others in cross-functional teams.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is recommended including proficiency in Excel.
