    Zonal Manager (M / F)

    Job Description

    • As a Zonal Manager, your main responsibility is to supervise and support regional activities to achieve profitability and productivity in every branch within the region.
    • You will also ensure full compliance with Alert policies and procedures.

    The role involves various tasks and responsibilities, including:

    • Participate in branch expansion, internal and external recruitment, brand management, and business development activities.
    • Train and supervise branch operations staff, ensuring adherence to internal processes and procedures for an efficient and effective workforce.
    • Implement policies, procedures, standards, and processes in the branches of the zone.
    • Ensure continuous adherence to defined operations policies within the branches.
    • Build, develop, and manage the loan and saving portfolio of the zone.
    • Participate in recovery efforts and ensure the recovery process is respected by all branches in the zone.
    • Represent operations management in the zone.
    • Approve loan files within the limit assigned by Management.
    • Ensure regional managers and branch management provide maximum support to their subordinates for better productivity.
    • Conduct periodic assessments of client service for an enhanced Alert client experience.
    • Ensure all branches in the zone are profitable according to the budget.
    • Play a key role in creating a conducive working environment for staff progress.
    • Coordinate with all other departments to ensure branches in the zone receive necessary support for smooth operations.
    • Provide regular reports on the effectiveness and efficiency of operations activities, portfolio status at the branches, to aid management in analysis and decision making.
    • Ensure accurate records are maintained and necessary reports are generated on time.
    • Support the handling of customer complaints according to different levels of authorization.
    • Present new opportunities for product development and business partnerships on a regular basis to foster business growth.
    • Review audit reports of all assigned branches, ensuring minimal error rates and prompt resolution of audit issues.
    • Develop training manuals to educate staff under your supervision on prevalent audit matters/issues to curtail recurrence.
    • Review operational risk of the bank to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
    • Coordinate and manage the activities of the head office/operations management in the zone.
    • Supervise other staff assigned to the zone.
    • Participate in branch expansion, brand management, and business development activities within the region.
    • Carry out all other activities assigned from time to time.

    Competency / Skill Requirements
    To excel in this role, the following competencies and skills are required:

    • Candidates should possess a Graduate Degree
    • Minimum of 5 years experience
    • Ability to manage 7x24 operations for banking and transaction processing.
    • Result-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving goals and objectives.
    • Good working knowledge of operations banking processes.
    • Strong customer relationship management skills.
    • Business performance management abilities.
    • Strong negotiation skills and business judgment.

    • Minimum position before new role- Regional Manager supervising many branches or Branch Manager of over 8 years.
    • Knowledge of Lagos and southwest Nigeria.

    Chief Operating Officer (COO)

    Job Description

    • The role of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior position in the company with global responsibilities. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and Group Chief Operation Officer, the COO is responsible for achieving the commercial objectives set by the Alert Group and confirmed by the Company's Board of Directors.

    Responsibilities
    Under the supervision of the CEO, your responsibilities include:

    • Establish policies and procedures in the area of operations.
    • Manage and control activities related to the operations of Alert Microfinance Bank Limited.
    • Implement and obtain results according to the fixed objectives of the Board of Directors.

    Specific Tasks

    • Manage and coordinate activities related to the promotion, analysis, evaluation, approval, and collection of loans.
    • Evaluate, approve, and/or reject credit applications according to the appropriate level of authority.
    • Formulate plans and proposals for the optimization of credit operations.
    • Fulfill and comply with established norms and policies for loan approval.
    • Participate as a member of the relevant Credit Committee.
    • Control and supervise procedures and storage of property offered as a guarantee.
    • Develop and consider the implementation of new financial products in accordance with Alert Microfinance Bank policies.
    • Formulate and update policies related to loan approval.
    • Ensure availability of operational statistics for the CEO.
    • Manage the loan recovery process for overdue loans or those undergoing legal procedures.
    • Establish monthly and annual objectives for the institution and its branch offices.
    • Establish incentive policies for various credit positions.
    • Act on behalf of the CEO in his absence, provided you are the most senior person at that time.
    • Maintain PAR control - Ensure that the PAR (Portfolio at Risk) is always lower than budgeted and the same for write-offs (WO).
    • Achieve monthly and quarterly business plan objectives.
    • Manage credit approval and holding of credit committees.
    • Conduct performance evaluations of Zonal Managers.
    • Validate branch zoning and market segmentation.
    • Participate in branch staff hiring decisions.
    • Promote new products to achieve budget plan objectives.
    • Set monthly branch disbursement objectives.
    • Prepare memos and policy changes.
    • Achieve budget plan by monitoring recovery from write-offs.
    • Participate in EXCO meetings and maintain confidentiality of discussions and decisions.
    • Achieve budget plan timelines and objectives for branch openings.
    • Maintain professionalism, cordiality, and teamwork among direct reportees and subordinates in the operations functions.
    • Coordinate activities of savings mobilization and new savings products.
    • Control costs at the branch level and participate in procurement committees.
    • Monitor and approve blacklisting of defaulting clients.
    • Perform monthly monitoring of operations staff performance and provide feedback.
    • Carry out other functions assigned by the CEO.

    Educational Qualification and Experience

    • Candidates should possess a University Degree in Finance, Economics, or Management.
    • Experience working in financial institutions, particularly in microfinance institutions.

    Requirements:

    • High integrity and initiative.
    • Good understanding of the work of financial institutions, particularly in loans, savings, fixed deposits, etc., with special emphasis on Internal Management Systems.
    • Outstanding communication skills, including English language proficiency.
    • Ability to motivate others.
