Job Summary

• The Vehicle Recovery Officer is responsible for locating, retrieving, and ensuring the safe return of company or client vehicles that have broken down, been involved in accidents, or defaulted on lease or hire-purchase agreements.
• The role requires technical knowledge of vehicle handling, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure, often outside normal working hours.
• The job will be the recovery and rescue of vehicles and first responders.
• Must know how to drive a car and have a valid license.
• Must have first aid training.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE / OND / Technical Certificate; additional training in auto mechanics or logistics is an advantage.
• Proven experience in vehicle recovery, towing, logistics, or fleet management.
• Valid driver’s license (and towing certification, if applicable).
• Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics and road safety procedures.
• Physically fit, reliable, and able to work in challenging conditions.
• Good communication, record-keeping, and teamwork skills.

Description

• This is a full-time, on-site role for a Safety Officer, based in Calabar.
• The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, conducting safety assessments, and ensuring compliance with occupational health standards.
• Key duties include accident investigation, devising safety protocols, conducting safety training, and coordinating security measures to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess an NCE / HND / Bachelor`s Degree
• At least one safety professional certification
• At least 4 years safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and best practices
• Proficiency in Occupational Health and ability to assess workplace hazards
• Experience in Accident Investigation and creating actionable reports
• Skills in Security management and implementation of preventive measures
• Ability to design and conduct Safety Training sessions effectively
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Previous experience in a safety-related role is preferred
• Experience in journey management, logistic safety.
