    Structural Engineer

    Location: Lekki, Lagos

    Overview

    • We are looking for a structural engineer to oversee our construction projects.
    • You’ll ensure that structures are safe and strong.
    • As a structural engineer, you’ll spend time both in our office - designing and planning project details - and onsite where you’ll provide technical advice to construction workers.
    • To succeed in this role, you should have handson experience using several construction methods and materials and advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
    • Project management and analytical skills are also very important.

    Job Competencies, Capabilities and Key Responsibilities
    To succeed at this role, the following will be expected to:

    • Design consultation & Development.
    • Supervision of highrise buildings and other engineering projects as well as installation works.
    • Analyzing configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure.
    • Calculating the pressures, stresses and strains of each component, such as a beam or lintels.
    • Consider the strength of various materials, e.g., timber, concrete, steel and brick, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design.
    • Liaising with other designers, including Architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction.
    • Investigating ground conditions and analyzing results of site tests, such as soil samples.
    • Applying expert knowledge of the forces that act on various structures.
    • Liaising with construction contractors and project professionals to coordinate design of engineering projects and to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound.
    • Providing technical advice
    • Carry out equipment & plant selection of construction equipment for building services and other engineering projects.
    • Prepare tender documents including detailed drawings and specifications.
    • Participate in tender analysis and negotiations.
    • Review and approve workshop drawings for construction.
    • Selection of appropriate construction material and analysis.
    • International and National codes standards research and application (BS, Euro codes, TIA, etc.)
    • Prepare & submit project reports & progress reports as appropriate.
    • Participate in risk analysis and management.
    • Prepare test procedure plans, supervise tests on concrete and steel and certify test results.
    • Supervise commissioning programmeand sign offs.
    • Development of construction drawings.
    • Draw up scope of works and drawing lists.
    • Checking drafted drawings and making necessary amendments.

    Background and Requirements
    Education:

    • B. Eng Civil / Structural Engineering Professional Certification: COREN (Registered member).

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 4 years work experience in a similar position.
    • Experience in road construction would be an added advantage.
    • Design consultation & Development Construction Administration & Inspection Project management & Business Development.
    • Quantity takeoffs and Analysis.
    • International & National Codes Standards Research and Application.
    • Knowledgeable in structural modelling Skills and Abilities (IT Tools).
    • Highly proficient in the use of the following: Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, MS Project, & Outlook) AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, PDMS Design Software (Primavera Project Planner).
    • Good command of Language. English Language (Oral & Written).

    Assistant Quantity Surveyor

    Location: Lekki, Lagos

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in the Preparation of cost feasibilities, approximate estimates, cost planning, Bills of Quantities, Specifications and Schedule of Rates all in accordance with relevant standards.
    • Assist in preparing valuation reports
    • Assist in preparing purchase orders and invoices for contractors
    • Assist in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
    • Assist in undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
    • Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility study.
    • Assist in performing risk, value management and cost control.
    • Support on procurement strategy.
    • Assist in preparing and analyzing costs for tenders.
    • Assist in allocating work to subcontractors.
    • Assist in providing advice on contractual claims.
    • Assist in analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
    • Assist in valuing completed work and arranging payments.
    • Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.

    • Assist in ensuring that the construction project is completed within its projected budget by ensuring cost planning, cost control and cost monitoring.

    • Assist in reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
    • Assist in scrutinizing material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
    • Assist in preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents as required by the construction and project manager.
    • Assist in documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
    • Assist in preparing tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills ofquantitiesand other documentations.

    Other Duties:
    Procurement:

    • Assist in preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
    • Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures.
    • Assist in reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
    • Assist in managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
    • Assist in maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
    • Assist in maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
    • Assist in researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, Management, or related field
    • 3 - 6 years of general construction estimating experience, financial experience, construction experience, or related field
    • Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Able to analyze financial records and apply data to improved results
    • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
    • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills
    • In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry
    • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
    • Experience in road construction would be an added advantage.
    • Good experience with taking offfor high-rise and roads, BOQ preparation and Valuation.
    • Highly proficient in the use of the following: Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, MS Project, & Outlook) AutoCAD.
    • Good command of Language. English Language (Oral & Written).

    Architect

    Location: Lekki, Lagos

    Overview

    • We are looking for a creative and inspired architect to handle projects from the initial client briefing through to the final stages of construction.
    • The architect's responsibilities include managing client relationships, developing and presenting design proposals, preparing drawings, specifications, budgets, construction documents, and managing project teams.
    • You should be able to take ownership of your project, be it the design and construction of a new building, an extension, alterations or a restoration project, and deliver on the client's requirements.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor's (B.Arch) or Master's Degree in Architecture & Engineering
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience
    • Current knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes, and regulations.
    • The ability to diagram designs both manually and with computer-aided drafting.
    • Good team working and communication skills.
    • Good time management skills.
    • An excellent working knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering principles.
    • Strong analytical, critical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Previous experience as an Architect preferred.
    • Excellent technical drawing skills.
    • Strong communication and project management skills.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Newforma, SketchUp, 3d Studio VIZ etc.
