    Sales Engineer - UPS

    Job Summary:

    • We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Sales Engineer to drive the growth of our Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) business. The ideal candidate will be the key technical advisor and sales lead for our portfolio of UPS systems, ranging from small commercial units to large, modular, data-center-grade solutions. You will be responsible for understanding complex client needs, designing tailored power protection solutions, and effectively communicating the value proposition to secure new business and maintain existing accounts.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Technical Sales & Business Development:

    • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within key vertical markets such as Data Centers, Healthcare, Telecommunications, Finance, Oil & Gas, and Industrial Manufacturing.
    • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to meet and exceed sales targets for UPS products and related services (maintenance, installation, etc.).
    • Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to clients, from technical staff to C-level executives.
    • Lead the entire sales cycle from initial contact and needs analysis to quotation, negotiation, and closing.

    Technical Consultation & Solution Design:

    • Conduct detailed site surveys to assess client power requirements, load profiles, and infrastructure compatibility.
    • Design and engineer optimal UPS solutions (including battery backup, power distribution units, and monitoring systems) using JMG's product portfolio (e.g., partners like Vertiv, Eaton, or other leading brands).
    • Create and deliver comprehensive technical proposals, including line diagrams, bill of materials, and detailed cost estimates.
    • Provide expert advice on UPS technologies (e.g., Online, Line-Interactive, Transformer-based, Transformerless), battery technologies (VRLA, Li-Ion), and system redundancy (N+1, 2N).

    Client Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients, consultants, and contractors.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all technical and commercial inquiries related to UPS systems.
    • Work closely with the project management and service teams to ensure a seamless handover and successful project implementation, ensuring client satisfaction.

    Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with the internal engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and profitable.
    • Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence to the marketing and management teams to help shape business strategy.
    • Liaise with product suppliers and manufacturers for technical support, training, and pricing.

    Proposal & Tender Management:

    • Review and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and tender documents.
    • Ensure all proposals are technically accurate, commercially competitive, and submitted on time.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    Essential:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a technical sales or sales engineering role, specifically with Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, power distribution, or critical infrastructure solutions.

    Technical Knowledge:

    • In-depth understanding of AC/DC power systems, electrical distribution, and power quality issues.
    • Strong knowledge of UPS topologies, battery technologies, and associated components (static switches, bypass panels, etc.).
    • Proficiency in reading and creating electrical line diagrams and schematics.
    • Familiarity with relevant international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ISO).
    • Sales Acumen: Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, build a pipeline, negotiate contracts, and consistently achieve sales quotas.
    • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Strong customer-facing skills, with a proven track record of building trust and rapport with clients.

    Preferred:

    • Prior experience in the Data Center, Healthcare, or Telecommunications industry.
    • Knowledge of complementary technologies such as precision air conditioning, DC systems, or building management systems (BMS).
    • Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for creating quotations.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or similar is a plus.

    Business Development Manager - Solar

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our solar business within the C&I segment. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing deals for rooftop, ground-mounted, and captive solar power plants for businesses, factories, hotels, and other commercial entities. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical understanding of solar systems, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to build long-term client relationships.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Development & Sales Strategy:

    • Develop and execute a strategic business plan to achieve sales targets and expand JMG's market share in the C&I solar segment.
    • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation.
    • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, managing the entire cycle from prospecting to contract closure.

    Client Engagement & Relationship Management:

    • Actively engage with C-level executives, factory managers, facility managers, and business owners to understand their energy needs and challenges.
    • Conduct professional presentations and proposals that clearly articulate the financial and operational benefits of JMG's solar solutions (including CAPEX, OPEX, and Lease/PPA models).
    • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and repeat business.

    Technical Solutioning & Proposal Development:

    • Collaborate closely with the internal engineering and design team to develop technically sound and commercially viable solar solutions.
    • Lead the preparation of detailed techno-commercial proposals, including system design, energy yield assessment, financial modelling (ROI, NPV, Payback Period), and commercial terms.
    • Oversee site assessments and energy audits to gather critical data for system design and proposal development.

    Market Intelligence & Networking:

    • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, government policies, and incentives related to solar energy in the region.
    • Represent JMG Limited at industry conferences, trade shows, and seminars to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
    • Build a strong network with EPC contractors, consultants, and financial institutions.

    Deal Structuring & Negotiation:

    • Structure deals creatively, including CAPEX, RESCO (OPEX), and hybrid models to meet diverse client requirements.
    • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring agreements are profitable and align with company policies and risk management frameworks.
    • Coordinate with legal, finance, and project management teams to ensure smooth handover and project execution post-sale.

    Qualifications and Person Specification

    Essential Qualifications & Experience:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy), Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
    • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience in business development or sales, with at least 3 years specifically in the C&I solar energy sector.
    • Track Record: Demonstrable history of meeting or exceeding sales targets and successfully closing complex, high-value B2B deals.
    • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar PV technology, system design principles, energy storage (a plus), and grid interconnection processes. Ability to interpret technical drawings and energy data.
    • Financial Acumen: Proficiency in developing financial models to calculate LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy), ROI, payback period, and IRR to demonstrate value to clients.
