    Project Manager

    Job description

    • Provide technical support and supervision to our Power Plant project and drive quality/timely completion.
    • Follow up and track project deliverable for Lagos and Kano
    • Coordinate and supervise project implementation
    • Follow up with vendors, contractors, and clients on project updates and implementation
    • Provide regular progress updates
    • Supervise on-site implementation
    • Provide Technical support for projects
    • Validate items/ materials for project implementation
    • Manage Vendors, Contractors, and Clients
    • Provide technical drawings for project implementation
    • Provide Technical support for the admin department with office facility management.
    • Collect and analyze necessary data ( which includes but is not limited to generators, gas consumption, power consumption, power losses on the line, and efficiency ratings for equipment)
    • Engage in technical discussions and site visits for new businesses.
    • Collaborate with the Business Development team to provide technical advice
    • Propose technical design/plan for new business

    Requirements

    • HND/B.Eng Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related dicipline
    • Power system Planning and Design, Power system Analysis, Renewable Energy and BMS system Design, General
    • Electrical Engineering, Knowledge of Autocad.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IPP Construction and O&M, Power System Planning and Design, Power System Analysis, General Electrical
    • Engineering design.
    • Has a solid technical knowledge of IPP and gas generators

    Plant Manager

    Job Overview:

    The Plant Manager will oversee the operations of the power plant or energy facility, ensuring that all activities are executed in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. This role includes managing plant performance, maintaining equipment, leading teams, and optimizing plant operations for maximum efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Operations Management:

    • Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient energy production.
    • Ensure the plant operates at optimal performance levels, meeting energy production targets and operational KPIs.
    • Implement maintenance schedules and ensure the reliability of plant equipment and systems.

    Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental laws.
    • Develop, implement, and enforce safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency protocols.
    • Conduct regular safety drills, inspections, and audits to minimize risks.

    Staff Management:

    • Lead, train, and develop a team of plant operators, technicians, and engineers.
    • Assign tasks and manage workforce scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
    • Evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and implement continuous improvement strategies.

    Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

    • Oversee preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
    • Coordinate and manage corrective maintenance activities to address unplanned outages.
    • Work with engineers and technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues.

    Financial & Budgeting Responsibilities:

    • Manage the plant’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and maintenance.
    • Control and reduce operational costs while maintaining plant performance.
    • Monitor fuel and resource usage, analyzing efficiency to improve financial outcomes.

    Process Optimization:

    • Analyze plant performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
    • Implement best practices for energy production and resource management.
    • Utilize technology and automation to enhance plant performance and operational efficiency.

    Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare and submit regular reports on plant operations, including performance metrics, safety records, and compliance status.
    • Document maintenance activities, equipment issues, and any plant malfunctions.

    Collaboration & Communication:

    • Collaborate with senior management to define long-term goals and plant strategies.
    • Work with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and contractors as needed.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications is a plus.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years in plant operations, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role in the energy sector.
    • Experience in power generation, including knowledge of renewable energy, fossil fuels, or nuclear energy, depending on the plant type.

    Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of plant equipment, control systems, and safety regulations.
    • Proficiency in plant management software and data analysis tools.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Understanding of environmental and regulatory compliance in the energy sector.

    Preferred Attributes:

    • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their integration into the grid.

    IPP Operator

    Position Overview:

    • The IPP Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Independent Power Producer (IPP) facilities, including monitoring, maintaining, and controlling the power production process. This position ensures that the plant operates within its operational and regulatory guidelines while maximizing efficiency, reducing downtime, and ensuring safety compliance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor Operations: Operate and monitor power plant equipment, such as turbines, generators, boilers, and associated systems to ensure optimal performance.
    • System Control: Use computerized control systems to track parameters, manage loads, and troubleshoot issues in real-time.
    • Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Conduct routine checks and maintenance on equipment to prevent malfunction. Perform troubleshooting and repairs as necessary.
    • Compliance: Ensure that all operations meet industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental laws. Assist with compliance reporting and inspections.
    • Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to any operational issues, including plant shutdowns, malfunctions, or emergencies. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems to minimize downtime.
    • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs and reports of daily operations, maintenance activities, and incident reports. Monitor fuel consumption, power output, and operational efficiency.
    • Coordination: Work closely with other plant personnel, including technicians, engineers, and maintenance staff, to ensure smooth and coordinated operations.
    • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor plant performance and suggest improvements to increase output, reduce waste, and enhance overall system reliability.
    • Safety: Adhere to and enforce safety policies and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members. Perform safety audits as needed.
    • Training and Development: Participate in training programs and skill development opportunities to stay current with technological advancements and regulatory changes.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Engineering is preferred.

    Experience:

    • 2-4 years of experience in a similar power plant operation or related industrial field.
    • Experience with turbine operations, generators, and auxiliary systems is an advantage.

    Soft Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
