    Project Lead Auditor (Expatriate) - Electrical Engineer

    Position Overview:

    • The Electrical Engineer for Refinery Construction and Infrastructure Audit is responsible for providing technical expertise and oversight related to electrical systems during the construction phase of a refinery project.
    • Additionally, this role involves conducting comprehensive audits of existing electrical infrastructure within the refinery to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • The engineer will work closely with the construction team, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure that electrical systems are designed, installed, and maintained in a manner that meets all operational requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Refinery Construction Phase:

    • Review electrical design plans and specifications to ensure compliance with engineering standards and applicable codes.
    • Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, motor control, instrumentation, and other related components.
    • Collaborate with the construction team to resolve any electrical design issues that arise during the construction process.
    • Conduct regular inspections to verify that electrical installations adhere to safety standards and quality requirements.

    Infrastructure Audit:

    • Perform thorough audits of existing electrical infrastructure within the refinery to identify potential hazards, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Evaluate the condition and functionality of electrical equipment, distribution networks, switchgear, transformers, and protective devices.
    • Identify areas where upgrades or modifications are necessary to ensure compliance with safety standards and to enhance system performance.
    • Develop comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and proposed action plans.

    Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure that all electrical systems and equipment comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
    • Collaborate with the safety department to implement safety protocols for electrical installations and maintenance activities.
    • Recommend and implement measures to mitigate electrical hazards and enhance safety within the refinery.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, modifications, and audit findings
    • Generate progress reports, audit reports, and other documentation as required by management and regulatory authorities.

    Project Management:

    • Participate in project planning and scheduling related to electrical aspects of refinery construction and infrastructure audits.
    • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of electrical engineering tasks

    Requirements:

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master degrees or certifications are a plus.

    Experience:

    • previous experience minimum of 15 years’ experience in electrical engineering within the refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors.
    • Experience in construction project management, electrical system design, and infrastructure audits is highly valued.

    Knowledge:

    • Proficiency in relevant electrical engineering codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC, IOC, NOC).
    • Familiarity with refinery processes and equipment is beneficial.

    Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
    • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.

    Certifications:

    • QMS (iso 9001: 2015 Lead auditor), PMP, registered Electrical Engineer with professional body are mandatory.

    • The Civil Engineer for Refinery Construction and Infrastructure Audit is responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of civil and structural components within a refinery project.
    • Additionally, this role involves conducting thorough audits of existing civil infrastructure to assess its condition, identify potential issues, and recommend improvements for safety, compliance, and efficiency.
    • The engineer will collaborate with the construction team, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure that civil and structural elements meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Refinery Construction Phase:

    • Review civil and structural design plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
    • Provide technical support during the construction of civil works, including foundations, concrete structures, steel frameworks, roads, and drainage systems.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that civil and structural components are installed correctly and in accordance with design specifications.
    • Collaborate with the construction team to address any civil engineering-related issues and provide effective solutions.

    Infrastructure Audit:

    • Perform comprehensive audits of existing civil infrastructure within the refinery to assess its condition, integrity, and compliance with safety standards and regulations.
    • Evaluate the performance and stability of structures, foundations, roads, and drainage systems.
    • Identify potential risks, hazards, and areas for improvement and develop actionable recommendations for optimization and enhancement.
    • Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, analysis, and proposed remedial actions.

    Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure that all civil and structural elements meet relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with the safety department to implement and promote best practices for civil construction, maintenance, and operational procedures.
    • Participate in safety assessments and risk assessments to proactively identify and address potential safety concerns.

    Documentation and Reporting

    • Maintain accurate records of civil engineering activities, audit results, and project-related documentation.
    • Prepare regular progress reports and status updates to keep project stakeholders informed of civil engineering activities and findings.

    Project Management:

    • Assist in project planning and scheduling, providing input on civil engineering requirements, resource allocation, and timelines.
    • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of civil and structural components into the overall refinery infrastructure.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in relevant areas are advantageous.

    Experience:

    • Previous experience a minimum of 15 years experience in civil engineering within the refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors.
    • Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, practices, and materials commonly used in refineries.

    Knowledge: 

    • Proficiency in relevant civil engineering codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE).
    • Familiarity with refinery site development, grading, and foundation design.

    Skills:

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Certifications:

    • QMS (ISO 9001:2015 Lead auditor), PMP, Registered Civil Engineer with a professional body are mandatory.
