    Programme Associate Assistant

    Roles/Responsibilities

    • Support day-to-day implementation of programme activities across project locations.
    • Assist in coordination of field activities, trainings, and community engagements.
    • Support beneficiary mobilization, registration, and follow-up across project interventions.
    • Assist in data collection, entry, and maintenance of programme records and databases.
    • Support preparation of activity plans, work schedules, and programme reports (weekly, monthly, and donor reports).
    • Ensure integration of gender, protection, and inclusion principles in programme implementation.
    • Coordinate with field staff, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth programme delivery.
    • Support documentation of lessons learned, success stories, and case studies.

    Tasks:

    • Participate in regular field monitoring visits and support supervision of activities.
    • Support organization of meetings, trainings, and workshops at community and LGA levels.
    • Assist in tracking programme indicators and outputs against project targets.
    • Support coordination with partners, LGAs, and other stakeholders.
    • Assist in identifying implementation challenges and reporting them to the Programme Officer.

    Other tasks:

    • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Programme Officer or Project Manager.
    • Support filing, documentation, and archiving of programme documents.
    • Assist in logistics coordination for programme activities where required.

    Desirable Skills

    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Basic knowledge of humanitarian and development programming.
    • Strong reporting and documentation abilities.
    • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Ability to work under pressure and in field-based environments.
    • Fluency in English; Hausa and Kanuri are added advantages.
    • Team player with commitment to accountability, gender equality, and inclusion.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Experience working with communities and local stakeholders.
    • Willingness to travel and work across project locations.
    • Familiarity with COWACDI’s operational areas is an added advantage.
    • Must comply with COWACDI policies including PSEA and safeguarding.

    Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

    • Minimum of B.Sc./HND in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Project Management, or related field.
    • Graduate with at least one year of relevant experience in programme support or humanitarian work.
    • Strong understanding of donor regulations.
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and in multicultural settings.

    Community Engagement / Mobilizer Officer

    Roles/Responsibilities

    • The Community Engagement Officer will lead inclusive, safe, and accountable community engagement processes to support the effective implementation of GBV, protection, and nutrition interventions. The role focuses on strengthening community ownership, meaningful participation of vulnerable groups, and two-way communication between communities and the project team, in line with humanitarian principles and safeguarding standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead community entry, engagement, and mobilization activities in project locations.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, groups, and structures.
    • Mobilize community members for programme activities, meetings, trainings, and campaigns.
    • Ensure meaningful participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
    • Support establishment and strengthening of community-based groups and committees.
    • Facilitate community sensitization sessions in line with project objectives and SBCC approaches.
    • Support integration of accountability, protection, and gender mainstreaming in community engagement activities.
    • Document community feedback, concerns, and lessons learned, and share with the programme team.
    • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with community leaders, traditional authorities, women and youth groups, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Mobilize community members for programme activities, meetings, trainings, awareness campaigns, and dialogues.
    • Ensure meaningful, safe, and inclusive participation of women, girls, boys, youth, persons with disabilities, and other at-risk or marginalized groups.
    • Support the establishment, strengthening, and functionality of community-based groups, committees, and referral structures.

    Tasks:

    • Promote conflict-sensitive approaches and Do No Harm principles in all interactions with communities.
