  • Agro Access will offer a simple futures contract that will allow the trader to lock in a price up to six months in advance of a commodity being harvested, and give the farmer financial security for crops yet to planted. The underlying commodities of these contracts will be insured up to the futures contract value by the farmer (if the farmer cannot afford the insurance premium Agro Access will purchase it on his behalf, cost of which will be recouped at contract maturity date with minimal interest.

    Production Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Production Manager will be responsible for Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, such as, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators.Ensure that rice production goes on seamless according to company standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Direct and coordinate the daily operations of the rice milling process as well as the task delivery of the milling, parboiling and boiler units;
    • Drive the implementation and adherence to all guiding policies, processes and procedures, ensuring that each batch of rice reflects the agreed flavor, texture and appearance;
    • Ensure proper planning and organizing of production shifts and schedules ensuring that all aspects of operations are efficiently handled.
    • Maintain an effective and robust production plan to capture job progress per shift, inventory levels, cost and other pertinent details that support optimal rice production.
    • Control all aspects of rice transfer, handling, milling, bulk storage and packing ensuring the achievement of daily & monthly capacity utilization.
    • Ensure all plant machinery are running optimal at all times.
    • Conduct and supervise minor repairs on all plant equipment.
    • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly resource requirements and effectively allocate these resources to reduce waste and support optimal production.
    • Constantly review and analyze production costs and paddy inventory to establish areas for improvement
    • Control final production activities, ensuring products are stacked and stored in an appropriate manner to prevent spoilage.
    • Coordinate and maintain effective safety plans to ensure all health and safety procedures and regulations within the rice plant are adopted and implemented
    • Establish, maintain and ensure adherence to all outlined quality control and quality assurance processes as it relates to rice milling operations, including implementation of effective hygiene, pest control and rodent control program.
    • Support with negotiations for the procurement of paddy and other general materials ensuring that the prices are within agreed Budgets.
    • Ensure safe operations of the rice mill machine and drive adherence to agreed repair and routine maintenance schedules
    • Zero deviation from regulatory standards
    • Provide necessary information for preparation and implementation of the unit’s annual and monthly budget (CAPEX and OPEX).
    • Identify training needs and develop training plans for the milling, parboiling and boiler team.
    • Drive the adoption of culture that supports innovation, development of quality products, excellent service delivery, accountability and operational excellence;
    • Drive performance of critical functions and efficiently lead the team whilst driving a culture of high performance and result consciousness.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Industrial Chemistry or any other related discipline added advantage
    • 2 - 5 years’ experience with at least 1 year as a production manager/supervisor within the manufacturing or food industry; particularly rice milling,
    • Experience rice production
    • Experience in project and operations management.

    Accountant

    Job Summary

    • The Accountant will be responsible for all financial accounting operations including performing ledger management, preparing accounting journals and financial statements, creating and maintaining periodic reporting, maintaining assets records, raw material inventory, finished goods inventory, creating annual budgets, expenditures reporting, preparing financial reports for creditors and agencies, maintaining records retention, and preparing confidential correspondence for company stakeholders.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial Reports.
    • Creating budgets, projections, and forecasts.
    • Managing investment accounts, sending notifications for payments and keeping of said investment records.
    • Create monthly office expense budget, monitoring & disbursement of office float.
    • Filing of accounting information, employee data, salary schedules, tax clearances & payment receipts.
    • Evaluate and analyze financial records to determine the financial position of the organization.
    • Review the company’s financial records, reports, and other accounting information to check for accuracy and ensure details align with the company’s goals and procedures.
    • Create accounting formats in Excel to suit the company’s operating, investing, and financing activities.
    • Document financial transactions.
    • Preparation of staff payroll, monthly employee tax & annual tax returns
    • Management internal and external correspondence as it relates to the accounting and financial activities of the business.
    • Recommend financial action points to management.
    • Manage inventory control and examine financial statements and records for accuracy and completeness.

    Job Requirements

    • First Degree in Accounting or related field.
    • Accounting Certification is an advantage.
    • Should be conversant with the use of accounting software.
    • Should be knowledgeable about Nigerian tasks and business laws.
    • 3 - 5 years experience as an accountant preferably in the FMCG sector.
    • Must be a VERY good listener with great communication prowess.
    • Expert use of Microsoft office suite (Excel and word are a MUST).
    • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks while working with little to no supervision.
