    Predictive Maintenance Technician - Golden Penny Foods

    Purpose

    • To carry out condition-based maintenance using predictive maintenance technologies to identify equipment defects early, improve asset reliability, minimize unplanned downtime, and support continuous improvement across milling operations.

    The Job

    • Perform condition monitoring activities using vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound testing, and other predictive maintenance techniques.
    • Conduct dynamic and static testing on electric motors to detect potential faults and assess equipment performance.
    • Monitor, analyze, and trend equipment condition data within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
    • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults using predictive maintenance tools and techniques.
    • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
    • Prepare detailed inspection reports, defect logs, and maintenance recommendations for timely corrective actions.
    • Maintain, calibrate, and ensure the proper functioning of predictive maintenance equipment and diagnostic tools.

    Qualifications

    • 5 O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English/ NABTEB, or Trade Test Grade.
    • NABTEB / City & Guilds (C&G) in a related discipline.

    Experience:​

    • Minimum of 2 years' cognate experience in predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, or industrial maintenance within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.

    The Person Must: ​

    • Possess practical knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques, including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound inspections, and condition monitoring.
    • Demonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills for rotating equipment and industrial machinery.
    • Be proficient in interpreting equipment condition data and preparing technical maintenance reports using CMMS.

    Mechanical Technician - Workshop Repairs - Golden Penny Foods

    Purpose

    • Mechanical Maintenance Technician responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of critical industrial equipment, including pneumatic systems, Aerzen blowers, pressure relief valves, rotary airlocks, and related mechanical components.

    The Job

    • Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of:
    • Pneumatic systems and components (cylinders, valves, actuators)
    • Aerzen blowers and compressed air systems
    • Pressure relief valves and safety valves
    • Rotary airlocks and material handling equipment
    • Diagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions promptly
    • Dismantle, repair, reassemble, and test equipment to ensure proper functionality
    • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities to reduce breakdowns
    • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability
    • Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics for troubleshooting and repair
    • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and quality standards
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and spare parts usage
    • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to resolve technical issue

    Qualifications

    • 5 O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English/ NABTEB, or Trade Test Grade I to III in Technical & Welding.

    Experience:​

    • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

    Mechanical Technician - Roll Refurbish / Corrugation & Flutting - Golden Penny Foods

    Purpose

    • To carry out reconditioning, corrugating, fluting, and polishing grinding rolls used in roller mills. Ensuring that rolls are restored to the correct profile, spiral direction, angles, and surface finish required for optimal milling performance.

    The Job

    • Observe and comply with all occupational Health and Safety procedures and meet statutory Mechanical codes
    • Operate roll fluting machines to cut new corrugations on worn rolls and restore break rolls, sizing rolls, and smooth roll profiles according to specifications
    • Apply correct flute patterns (dull, sharp, semi-sharp) and spiral angles; Inspect flute angles, spacing, spiral direction, and surface uniformity; Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and precision gauges to measure roll diameter, hardness, and flute depth
    • Follow up on the request and collection of materials needed for roll preparation to avoid delays, and perform regrinding, polishing, and surface finishing to ensure optimum roll performance
    • Maintain and ensure proper storage of all roll conditioning tools such as cutting tools, grinding stones, measuring instruments, and coolant, and carry out equipment inspection tasks / planned maintenance according to schedule and update all necessary reports as required
    • Attend promptly to all roll preparation requests to reduce production downtime and ensure that all completed roll preparation request are signed off, documented and submitted to the Planning Manager.
    • Use lifting beams, hoists, and jacks to safely load and unload rolls onto fluting machines

    Qualifications

    • 5 O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English/ NABTEB, or Trade Test Grade I to III in Technical & Welding.

    Experience:​

    • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

    The Person Must:​
