    Physics and Mathematics Teacher

    Responsibilities

    As a Physics & Mathematics teacher, your roles and responsibilities include:

    • Understanding curriculum requirements, and creating syllabi, lesson plans, and educational content that satisfy these requirements.
    • Analyzing the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of students and structuring lessons and assessments around them.
    • Adjusting teaching methods to suit different groups of learners.
    • Creating engaging, stimulating lesson plans and asking frequent questions to make sure students are on track.
    • Providing extra support to students requiring it, and more challenging tasks to those ahead of the class.
    • Keeping abreast of developments and research in the field, and using this to ensure lessons are relevant.
    • Reporting any progress issues to the head of the department, as well as the parents.
    • Attending meetings, training sessions, workshops, conferences, and other continuing education initiatives.
    • Supervising lab sessions, delivering practical demonstrations, and accompanying students on field trips.
    • Keeping the line of communication open between students, staff, and parents.
    • Prepare students for external exams and competitions.
    • Teaching some STEM-related subjects as highlighted in the STEM subjects section across all classes.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering
    • Relevant teaching certification may be required.
    • Vast ICT knowledge- programming experience would be advantageous.
    • A completed teaching apprenticeship would be advantageous.
    • Tutoring experience would be advantageous.
    • Familiarity with different types of teaching styles.
    • Patience, innovation, and knowledge of classroom management and student discipline.
    • Strong multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent leadership skills.
    • Deep understanding of the Nigerian and British curriculum.
    • Strong Mathematical skills.
    • Strong communication skills.

    Assistant Early Years Teacher

    esponsibilities

    As an early year’s practitioner, your roles and responsibilities include:

    • Encouraging learning and development, through play and teaching.
    • Creating a secure environment, using imagination to help children to learn.
    • Working with parents to support their children.
    • Enabling children to build their literacy, language, and numeracy skills.
    • Monitoring progress and planning educational games.
    • Putting together activities that will keep the children engaged throughout the day.
    • Helping children get ready for the transition into a classroom environment.
    • Helping children to become more independent when carrying out daily tasks.
    • Creating the right balance between activities and downtime.
    • Keeping up to date with curriculum changes and best practice developments.
    • Working with others, including teaching assistants and nursery nurses as well as volunteer helpers, to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoors.

    Requirements

    • Previous experience as an Assistant Early Years specialist
    • Creativity
    • Knowledge of educational rhymes.
    • Knowledge of various teaching methods
    • Deep understanding of the National and British curriculum.
    • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
    • Dedication to pupils and education
    • Exceptional leadership skills.
