    Packaging Machine Specialist

    Location: Hong, Adamawa
    Job Type: Full-time

    Summary

    • The key purpose of this job is to maintain equipment in an as new condition, assuring reliable performance to standard through inspections, corrective actions to restore equipment back to inherent condition, problem solving to address root cause of failures and loop closure and provide input into the ZBB maintenance budget.
    • Coach operators in the correct way to operate equipment and perform autonomous operations.
    • Typically assigned to quality impact machines like bottle washer, filler and labelers, quality checks are carried out and deviations to standard acted on.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities
    Health, Safety and Environment:

    • Comply with safe, health and environmental procedures and legislation.
    • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
    • Identification of unsafe practices through SIO's.
    • Safety inspections conducted.
    • Safe maintenance practices audited.
    • Adherence to PPE policies.
    • Maintenance tools are in good working order

    Maintain and repair plant and associated devices:

    • Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation and or systems.
    • Plan and prepare the job.
    • Carry out repairs/maintenance.
    • Operate workshop equipment 

    Work in Teams:

    • Communicate effectively in teams.
    • Contribute to self and team development

    Work orders complete:

    • Backlog.
    • Generate tags for follow on work
    • Satisfied customers – no rework

    Operational Support:

    • Provide specialist support to the shift-based teams during operations.
    • Assist as functional expert in problem solving.
    • This must be undertaken in support of the Process Artisan Where requested, provide guidance and advice to the shift-based teams on mechanical equipment, mechanical faultfinding and correct responses to mechanical failure modes 

    Planned Maintenance:

    • Take part in maintenance planning meeting, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required
    • Carry out work during the planned maintenance window in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule issued by the planner
    • Partake in maintenance postmortems to feedback problems, opportunities and learnings from maintenance activities 

    Routine Maintenance:

    • Partake in cleaning, lubrication and inspection in accordance with the maintenance schedule issued by the Maintenance Planner
    • Carry out routine maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule
    • Where problems have been uncovered during routine maintenance, these must be resolved using the appropriate problem-solving techniques. 

    Running Repairs:

    • On request, partake in carrying out running repairs on plant and equip- ment, or support the Shift Artisans in carrying out repairs
    • When carrying out repairs, assess the problem and determine a course of action
    • Complete the administration tasks relating to any running repairs that the Technician has carried out as per SAP requirements

    Problem Solving:

    • Where problems have occurred during routine activities, apply the correct problem-solving approach to resolve
    • Where required, call in additional resources to assist in problem solving or escalate to the Engineering Controller for direction
    • Assist fellow team members to resolve problems on request Take part in FFA's on request 

    Improvement:

    • Improve SWI's, SOP's and maintenance tasks on an ongoing basis as issues arise to ensure that the loop is closed out to prevent issues arising.

    Housekeeping and Safety:

    • Operate in a safe manner at all times, and identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected
    • Carry out work according to the work instructions and adhere to appropriate AB InBev policies and procedures
    • Carry out housekeeping tasks, and apply 4S principles during the execution of duties

    Job Requirements

    • Education: Min - NTC5/N5 Technikon qualification. Trade test qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Millwright
    • Training: Min – 3 - 5 years in a packaging bottling production environment
    • Experience: 1-3 Years technical mechanical/electrical and bottling experience in a FMCG environment

    Desirable But Not Essential:

    • National Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical)
    • FMCG experience as artisan
    • Packaging maintenance workshop experience.
    • Bottling hall and production experience.
    • Machine specific experience

    Country Warehouse & Inventory Control Manager

    Summary

    • The key purpose of this role is responsible to analyze, report and optimize inventory and warehouse processes in order to drive improvement on supply chain losses / overheads.
    • Ensuring T2 Warehouses processes are developed & implemented to meet key productivity & safety outputs. Warehouse optimized to meet Inventory policy targets.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    • Daily inventory controls & open cycles reviewed; gaps identified & actions implemented to close​
    • Inventory postings tracked & monitored with all deviations highlighted & communicated
    • Understand and report on packaging interface discrepancies and assist Ops Warehouses with resolving in-transfer variances
    • Weekly reporting on Supply Chain Overheads​ (Obsolescence, breakages, inventory count differences, missing bottles, etc.)
    • Monitor demand changes and impact on inventory holding​
    • Regional consolidation and reporting of SCO full package & Container Impairment losses, gaps identified & action plans implemented​
    • Consolidate and report on Latest Estimates for Year to Go on a monthly basis by WD5​
    • Annual  Warehouse & Inventory budgets & monthly LE agreed & signed-off (SCO & Container Impairments) to achieve VLC & ZBB targets
    • Obsolescence analysis and projections done weekly and monthly
    • Implement and monitor Inventory DPO processes (SOPs)​
    • T1 claims process compliance with claims tracked & closed.​
    • T2 Invoice and shortage recovery process compliance tracked & closed​
    • Compliance to the freshness & rotation policy as per & DPO standards​
    • Monthly audit on inventory & warehouse processes, test controls & review KPI’s​, review storage capacity (FG & Containers)
    • People capability built in the warehouse functional areas, ensuring SOPs & OPL’s aligned to DPO requirements
    • Training material developed & training sessions conducted
    • Warehouse Safety controls & design in place to ensure, safe walkways, man vs machine segregation, stacking & safe ways to work.
    • Warehouse compliant to DPO quality fundamentals
    • 3rdParty contracts managed with standard SLA developed & implemented for picking & sorting operations
    • Standardised processes developed & implemented for sorting & picking operation to improve quality & productivity
    • Weekly review of inventory policy adherence to ensure SL targets achieved & avoid obsolescence product write-off
    • Weekly review of product age to ensure adherence to freshness & rotation policy
    • RTI& T1 empties return plan adherence
    • Bottle loss and FRI implementation
    • Support production performance and execution against the production plan -Downtime Caused by Logistics reduced
    • Owner of LCP assigned pillars
    • DPO & VPO implemented, Means achieved to drive results. Serves as an SME
    • Ad hoc assigned duties

    Minimum Requirements

    • 3-year relevant diploma/degree​
    • 2-3 years’ experience in warehousing and inventory management​
    • Computer literate​
    • SAP/Syspro literacy essential​
    • Strong MS Excel and analytical skills are required​
    • Ideally has exposure to finished goods and/or raw materials management
