    Operator - Packing Plant

    Job Description

    • The Packing Plant Operator is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of equipment and systems within the cement packing plant.
    • The role involves ensuring that cement is properly packed, weighed, and dispatched according to production targets, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure the achievement of the packing target (e.g., 750 MT of cement per twelve-hour shift).
    • Report to the Shift Manager at the beginning of each shift and receive specific instructions or work assignments.
    • Perform proper shift handover and takeover to ensure continuity of operations.
    • Operate packers, autoloaders, and other packing plant machinery efficiently—preferably in automatic (auto) mode.
    • Regularly check the weight of cement bags to maintain the 50 kg standard; immediately report any deviation to the Supervisor.
    • Properly stack and label rejected or damaged (busted) bags in designated areas to prevent contamination or loss.
    • Keep the packing area continuously manned; do not leave the workstation unattended during operations.
    • Obtain permission before leaving the work area for any reason.
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by removing rejected materials and ensuring orderly housekeeping.
    • Conduct routine equipment checks and report mechanical or process faults to the Shift Supervisor or Maintenance team.
    • Ensure smooth communication and handover to the incoming operator at the end of the shift.
    • Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures, including ISO Management Systems (QMS, EMS, and OHSAS).

    Requirements

    • WASC / GCE / SSCE or Trade Test I, II, or III in a relevant technical field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance).
    • 2 - 9 years of relevant experience in cement packing, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
    • Ability to read, write, and follow standard operating procedures.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Physically fit and capable of performing manual and technical tasks.
    • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new machinery and processes.
    • Demonstrated reliability, discipline, and a commitment to achieving operational targets.

    Electrical Manager - Power Plant

    Job Summary

    • The Electrical Manager-Power Plant at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance of the Power plant Electrical equipment to avoid breakdown of machinery, preparing of the spare parts list, and maintaining the proper records of equipment history in the designated areas.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide electrical engineering expertise for transformers, generators, motors, relays, cables, etc.
    • Generate work orders for identified electrical problems.
    • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
    • Prioritise and assign electrical system related work orders to skilled maintenance staff.
    • Direct assigned maintenance staff in resolving complex and/or difficult maintenance issues.
    • Procurement actions for spares and equipment.
    • Prioritize personnel safety & health and ensure good housekeeping during all maintenance jobs.
    • To devise appropriate PM schedules for all critical equipment as per OEM recommendations and ensure proper implementation.
    • Ensure discipline, skill enhancement and motivation of subordinates.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Section Head, Electrical from time to time.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s degree or it's equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
    • A minimum of fifteen (15) years work experience in Gas Turbine based power plant.
    • Knowledge on electrical maintenance, generator, transformers, AVR, compressor, AC and other equipment maintenance.
    • Knowledge of modern electrical systems.
    • Very good analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Very good oral and written communication skill.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.Creativity and an ability to think out of the box.

    Power Plant Operations Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Power Plant Operations Manager at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for assisting the Sectional Head (Operation) & supervising the general shift activities of Power Plant to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standard.

    Key Duties and Responsiilities

    • Manage the General shift activities for Power plant performance & Safety.
    • Organize & Control Schedule Testing of firefighting system & Document Updating.
    • Organizing in-house training program for implementation of standard operating procedure.
    • Support Operations Section Head to Prepare SOP for critical activities and training to the field staff in house training program to improve skill.
    • Ensure housekeeping and controlling the power plant area cleaning activities  
    • Power plant production data posting to SAP without error.
    • Ensure healthiness of equipment & updating pending job list for job planning. 
    • Support shift staff for Proper Handling of emergencies in assigned area during emergency.
    • Prepare and maintain power plant production reports and records
    • Manage housekeeping, general shift operations, Safety and environment related activities.
    • In-house training implementation, SOP preparation and training to the field staff for efficient and uninterrupted operation avoiding stoppage/tripping of the equipment.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Chemical Engineering with, or  its equivalent in a relevant discipline.
    • A minimum of Fifteen (15) years of plant relevant work experience in Gas based power plant operations.
    • In-depth understanding of power plant systems and interactions among systems
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Good networking and teaming skills.
    • Good data gathering and analysis skills.
    • Baseline problem analysis and solving skills.
    • Creativity and an ability to think out of the box.
    • Proficiency in the use of office productivity tools
    • Knowledge of SAP production report preparation.

    IT Field Support Engineer

    Description

    • Provide first-line support and troubleshooting for IT-related issues, including hardware, software, network, and other technical problems 
    • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate technical teams and track the progress of the resolution process 
    • Guide users on how to use IT systems and applications, including password resets and user account management 
    • Maintain accurate records of all incidents and service requests, including details of the diagnosis and resolution provided 
    • Monitor the performance and availability of IT systems and applications, identifying and reporting any issues or anomalies 
    • Provide remote support to off-site users and liaise with other IT teams to resolve any issues that may arise 
    • Participate in IT projects and initiatives as required, providing input on end-user requirements and testing new systems and applications.

    Qualification and Experience 

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field 
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT technical support role 
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues 
    • Experience with Microsoft Windows OS, Active Directory and basic networking concepts 
    • CompTIA Certification is preferred.
