Job Objective
To provide qualitative and quantitative lab-based tasks such as sampling, testing and measuring of samples obtained from the human body aimed at informed medical practice and procedure that can help to tackle major diseases.
Reports to Chief Medical Officer, Finance & Admin Director, Human Resource Manager, QA & QC, Consultant doctors and medical doctors
Direct Report Lab technicians, lab scientist, nurses, doctors, pharmacists, embryologists, IT staff and staff in the hospital
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Manages the overall lab operations; developing procedures to ensure safety, security, quality, and accuracy of results;
- Designs and performs test procedures; analyzing requests for tests and equipment; tending to administrative and management matters
- Coordinates the actives of principal investigators
- Manages the documentation process of the lab and the operations of equipments in the lab
- Prepares and updates the process workflow of the clinical laboratory and send to management for approval
- In liaison with management assist in the pricing system of clinical laboratory services
- Coordinates the activities of inventory management in the department
- In liaison with the control department and finance and Admin Director prepares BIDS for staff annual medical check up to organisations
- Performs regular check on all clinical laboratory equipment to ascertain its effectiveness
- To perform several types of laboratory tests; cutting across Medical microbiology, Clinical chemistry, Transfusion science, Haematology, Histopathology, Cytology, Immunology and Virology.
- Examining and analysing body fluids and cells to look to for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms.
- Analysing the chemical reactions to determine concentrations of compounds such as blood glucose and cholesterol levels.
- Identifying blood groups and cross matching blood for transfusions.
- Monitoring the effects of medication by testing how a patient is responding to treatment.
- Using microscopes, cell counters, and other sophisticated laboratory equipment.
- Relaying results to relevant medical staff, who use the information to diagnose and treat the patient’s illness.
- Keeping accurate records and writing reports.
- Assisting in the production and updating of laboratory documentation, particularly relating to policies and standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring the service is provided in an accurate, efficient and cost effective manner.
- Monitors the daily performance of clinical lab staff with use of critical success factors and KPIs
- Carry out monthly/quarterly/yearly appraisal on clinical lab staff and sends a report to the Human resource and management of staff improvement.
- Assist the human resource in regular staff audit for department update
- Prepares monthly/quarterly/yearly work-plan and report for management for decision making
- Prepares the yearly strategic direction of the clinical laboratory department in connection with the overall organisational strategy and prepares a quarter report on the effectiveness of the strategy and stage level to management.
- Any other Adhoc duties as assigned by management
Educational Qualification BSc. Laboratory Science or its equivalent and other professional qualifications

- Familiarity with statistical tools and use of chemicals and their reactions.
- Data entry – Computer programs which maintain the lab database.
- Outstanding proficiency in investigations.

Job Objective
Ensure regular clean environment is maintained always in the hospital premises.
- Reports to House Keeping Supervisor, HR Manager, QA,QC Manager, Head Nurse, All nursing Supervisors

Tasks & Responsibilities
- Cleans hospital patient rooms, baths, laboratories, theatres, offices, halls, and every area in the hospital premise
- Understands importance of Health and safety in the workplace and follows guidelines. Pays due care and attention to both own and others safety.
- Follows the available daily roster guides, ensuring cleanliness at all times, by signing accordingly.
- Demonstrates good manners and politeness when corrected by supervisor and learns from this. Comfortable in liaising with people within and outside of the team and the Housekeeping Department.
- Shows interest in the job. Can be trusted to work independently and unsupervised. Willing to listen and carry out instructions without complains.
- Willing to use initiative should the need arise. Looks to participate in training, departmental meetings and always available to pitch in to help.
- Follows the stipulated measurements required for cleaning agents, thereby curbing wastage but produces high quality of job.
- Identifies defects in suites, walkways, offices and hospital surroundings and reports on these.
- Exhibits standard knowledge of methods, techniques and skills required in own job and works within deadlines.
- Exhibits leadership skills by being assigned to train new hires within job scope.
- Wash and cleans all cupboards, windows and doors,
- Wash, clean and disinfect rooms and toilets two hourly and as required.
- Gathers and porters soiled linen from the floors to the laundry room in compliance with the Infection Control policy
- Ensure regular placement and replacement of toiletries.
- Empties dustbin of all work areas, patient rooms, toilets etc as required by your schedule.
- Cleans cobweb everyday
- Sweeps hospital compound at least twice a wee
- Ensures clean beds mattresses and keep room, beds and beddings sanitised and clean before and after discharge of patients
- Ensures clean refrigerator, electric kettles, buckets, bowls, and wardrobes are sanitised and clean before and after discharge of patients
- Keeps utility & storage rooms in clean orderly condition
- Distributes laundered articles e.g linens
- And any other adhoc duties
Educational Qualification SSCE graduate
Required Experience 1-2years relevant experience
